I have come to trust each of their games with my money and commitment - but I have also heard murmurs of discontent. I share your concerns.
We were expecting magnificence; we would be exultant, but the ending was incomplete. Shutting up and accepting it is not our way.
Think of our heroes! KotOR, which overthrew our convictions with a single plot twist. Or DA O, which left us breathless with choices and deep characters.
These giants do not seem to give us solace here, but they are not all BioWare can do.
Before paper pushers, there were artists. Before narrow deadlines, there was intricate narrative!
Our hope brought about DAO: Awakening, but before that, we held the line!
Our hope brought about LotSB, but before that, we held the line!
Our hope will bring The Truth; in the battle today, we will HOLD THE LINE!

"There is no confirmation for any of this. But if you want to be pessimistic and believe that Bioware just destroyed an entire franchise then go ahead."

Amusing how many people believe a franchise can only work if you go forward in time.
Anyways, as long as an alternate ending remains optional even if you have the DLC, get on with it.
(If it's an alternate ending at all, I'll only read the content if we get official confirmation)
Otherwise expect the spanish inquistition.

Yeah I've pretty much lost all hope now, haha.
There's still apart of me that can dream though...

Read Step 2:), 1.)

Both Shadow Broker and Arrival were leaked by 4chan months in advance.

i get the impression someone at 4chan has links to bioware. they get leaks months in advance plus they been pretty negative about me3 for quite a while now. almost as if they knew something was gonna ruin the game in advance?

Who would really want to play a prequel? I mean honestly. What are you gonna do have us play as javick during his cycle? We all know what's going to happen and everything you did would be even less meaningful then in ME3.

They could add dlc's to add to ME3 (IE Omega) but again what's the point if it still leads you to the same crap conclusion?

To be honest, Mass Effect 3 does seem like a rather short game in hindsight and in comparison to the other 2 (I think I hit 40 on both per playthrough, and in ME3 I could easily have done it in 25-30hrs)..... maybe the ending is really still to come.

40? Man it took me about 30 hours for Mass Effect 2 and only 25 for Mass Effect 1 if I recall. I thought ME3 was on par length wise.

Of course the experience is bound to differ from person to person. Speaking for myself, I had a couple of breathless moments in DA O.

This guy is right ^

After Shep wakes up from Harbinger's beam attack you don't see the "N7" Logo on what's left of Shep's armor. However, when he wakes up at the end of the "destroy" ending, you see the "N7" logo on Shep's armor. This is not to mention he wakes up in a pile of rubble, clearly on Earth, back in London. No way he was back on the Citadel....

Of course, if this was true it'd cause a few problems with From Ashes, either they would have stopped working on the games ending to complete that or they lied completely about it being done only after the core game was done. Seems a bit conflicting.

Agreed, I did, too.  I loved DAO ... actually, it's DAO that made me buy ME1 ... and then ME2, and then I played DA2 and wished I had gouged my eyes out first ... and then did something I hadn't done with a Bioware game ever ... pre-ordered ME3 ... which I enjoyed immensely for a very long time ... until the last 10 minutes when my galaxy was destroyed despite my best efforts and my LI was never to be seen again and I wished I had never played ME1.

Geoff Keighley has done a write up on the "Final Moments of Mass Effect 3", talking about the development of the game. Most likely, you will find that there are no plans to do such a DLC. (https://twitter.com/#!/geoffkeighley)

Not trying to be a wet blanket but I am not hopeful.
