Right now, the only thing standing between me and wanting to believe this is what Casey Hudson said. Things like:
'DLC content will always be optional'
'We will never put lore into a DLC'
also 'Any DLC released for ME3 will likely be before its events.' and 'The DLC, whether it’s day one or not, is always going to be sugar on top, the extra… You know, the extra little bits of content that tell side stories.'

Of course, this was him trying to defend 'From the Ashes' Day one DLC, so he may have exaggerated some things, still...

Hasn't it been proven that Casey Hudson is a liar? and has done so multiple times?

I refuse to get my hopes up too high over this. But, I want it to be true very badly. I'll chalk this up as plausible.

There was tweet from the offical mass effect twitter saying "Do you really think we would name anything The Truth?"
So yeah,  this is almost surely fake.

New True Ending All Along
A few hours ago an anonymous user who leaked the multiplayer DLC
(just an hour earlier) has claimed that the ending fiasco was deliberate
because of the game’s storyline being leaked. They changed it so they
could have more time to prepare the real ending DLC.

It is called “The Truth”, and will be released in April
or May… You will be able to continue your story if you picked any of
the endings. Your decision during the sequence will have a big effect on
the ending of The Truth. Also, The Truth adds two new
sets of enemies, new classes, and multiplayer maps, including “Firebase
Hive”, which is a small area of the last remaining Collector Ship included in the DLC, which, by the way, you should definitely bring Javik the Prothean along if you have them.

The following picture shows some of the leaked multiplayer
classes and races. One race that isn’t shown is the Prothean Adept and
Vanguard. This DLC also, enables the ability for owners of the preorder
and From Ashes DLC to find their DLC weapons in reinforcement packs.

All of that content, and this might as well be labelled an expansion.
And it’s Free!

http://masseffect.wi...LC_Revealed!!!!

Sure it is a rumor, but the multiplayer stuff this guy leaked turned out to be true. Why not this?

I have quite a few reasons for believing this.

1. I trust Bioware. They must have known this ending would ****** off fans. It seems completely plausible that they didn't have enough time to finish the ending which is why they would release it months after.

2. Bioware seems awefully quiet lately. I bet they are actually still WORKING to get the dlc out right as summer hits. This also explains why we haven't seen a patch for all the glitches like the character import issue (which I'm still mad about). They probably have a list of priorities and that ending is on top.

"Hardest. Day. Ever. Seriously, if you people knew all the stuff we are
planning...you'd, we'll - hold onto your copy of me3 forever."

I'm sure lame multiplayer DLC, Galactic Readiness DLC (taking back Omega for example), or an epilogue to show what happened to Earth and the stranded squadmates won't make us want to "hold onto me3 forever". They probably know that too.

3. Too many hints that it is all just hallucination/indoctrination. Bioware is way too good of a company to leave plotholes the size of Texas in the final installment of a trilogy. Sure Dragon Age 2 may have had problems but look at all the other Bioware games. KOTOR, Jade Empire, Dragon Age Origins, Mass Effect 1 + 2, etc. Terrible plothole ridden endings isn't their business style.

The ending where Shepard wakes up under a pile of rubble isn't possible if the ending wasn't a hallucination. Shepard would have been vaporized by the explosion of the citadel. There is no way he could have just landed on Earth unscathed.

4. If by the love of Satan, Bioware actually plans on leaving the ending the way it is and only adds expansions like extra missions to do (Overlord, Firewalker, etc.) then EA will lay the smackdown on them. Already, Bioware/EA is losing money (or not making as much as they could) because the prices are falling, people are trading in the game, and all this bad press is probably stopping people from purchasing the game. Not to mention, any "NON-ending" dlc will probably not be purchased by the majority of the fanbase.

If there is money to be made by making a new ending for fans, EA will be sure to exploit it no matter how much pride/ego Bioware has.

There is no confirmation for any of this. But if you want to be pessimistic and believe that Bioware just destroyed an entire franchise then go ahead.

Me? Well I don't believe Bioware would sacrific their wonderful universe, their fans, and their profits in order to please their ego/pride. That's not how a business like this works.

OP, I too believe in "The Truth". I myself created a thread with this similar notion a few days ago :) Each to his own, but we shouldn't let this optimism die until we get hard evidence that entirely dismisses our beliefs. By BioWare themselves of course, not the bitter fans who are too quick to refute something better than what they got.

I want to believe, but can't bring myself to. My heart is too broken. Also, EA laying the smack down? You're kidding. EA is the reason that everything is rushed in the first place.

I don't have enough faith in BioWare anymore for me to believe they would do anything this intelligent.

:'(

But, I do want to believe lol

I continue to miss this over the thousands of pages. But is this actually leaked by the guy who leaked Overlord/Kasumi? Or just people hoping that this is true? It says an anonymous poster.

"We appreciate everyone’s feedback about Mass Effect 3 and want you to know that we are listening. Active discussions about the ending are more than welcome here, and the team will be reviewing it for feedback and responding when we can. Please note, we want to give people time to experience the game so while we can’t get into specifics right now, we will be able to address some of your questions once more people have had time to complete the game. In the meantime, we’d like to ask that you keep the non-spoiler areas of our forums and our social media channels spoiler free.

We understand there is a lot of debate on the Mass Effect 3 ending and we will be more than happy to engage in healthy discussions once more people get to experience the game. We are listening to all of your feedback.

In the meantime, let's give appreciation to Commander Shepard. Whether you loved the ME3 ending or didn't or you just have a lot of questions, he/she has given many of us some of the best adventures we have had while playing games. What was your favorite moment? Image IPB

At least it is an acknowledgement that they are listening to all of the feedback. It is consoling that they have posted about it, and it shows that this movement is not simply "gamers whining". I love Mass Effect, and the entire series. This ending is not Bioware material. I have been following this stuff since finishing the end of the game, and I hope that Bioware does something - anything - to give us some peace.

I love you Bioware. Don't dissapoint. You are my favorite developer, and have been since Knights of the Old Republic. Don't let down now. :(

A few thing on this. Yeah, I wouldn't be surprised if there are more Protheans if it involves non-controlled Collectors. Probably using a successful Eden Prime as a means to create more Collectors over time. Anyway, the multiplayer stuff sounds legit enough based off of my thought on the Collector ship thing. The ending stuff though...I really want to believe, especially since I personally believe in the Indoctrination Theory, and I want to have faith in Bioware, but after what I've been about Casey's decisions when they were creating the ending, and all the cryptic stuff on twitter...My mind has gone from confused to error, does not compute.

I would dismiss this as completely illogical, but the fact that the endings are the way they are defies logic as well so I'll just wait and see.

So the anonymous leaker, claims that the ending was changed due to the story leak... does anyone else see the hypocrisy in then leaking a potential dlc ending resolution?

You really have to be a naive idiot to think that Bioware would intentionally ****** off customers and lose hundreds of thousands of dollars (so far) just to they could be artsy and scream "FOOLED YOU" at their customers by releasing a "free" DLC that fixes their crap endings.

It defies logic even more that Bioware would throw away money intentionally by pulling a stunt like this.

No, its a shunty Coping mechanism because people don't know how to react to this ending.

Hope was not meant to be used as a rock.
