In the Hard Copy, does the disk check run every time you run the program? Or is it sort of like Fallout 3, where you can bypass it by not running the launcher?

I have the steam version. Pretty sure it will check steam everytime - since that is how steam operates. Not sure about non-steam versions.

Offline mode isn't *that* buggy, you just need to make sure you shut Steam down properly.

Sounds like the worst copy protection scheme ever

God I hope not. Nothing more annoying than having to keep a friggin' disk in the drive at all times.

It was that way just to say that they had a Disk Check.
Anyone that dug around a bit could just find the Fallout 3.exe and run it directly. Only really ever needed the CD to install and patch.
I'm really hoping DA:O is like this. I really don't want to have to have the disk in my bay everytime I want to play.
...huh, that rhymed.

Most games I've gotten recently on disk (in the past year or so) have not required you to have the disk in the drive. I would assume DA is the same way. Don't know though.

I feel like I am missing half the conversation here. Did anyone confirm/deny the need of the disk to be in the drive to play?
