I can't imagine or even help but wonder whether it was simple oversight or a malignant lack of love for one of the most belovedly popular fantasy elf-based races in the entirety of the fantasy genre to have their skintone left ENTIRELY out of Dragon Age: Origins (which would mark one of the first recent Fantasy Games I've seen that have committed such a travesty)... yes, I'm talking about  The Drow.

Sometimes commonly known as Dark Elves, the Drow have skintones that range from a dark humanoid color (say, ebony) to a blue or purplish-grey clear into a dark black color. They have been the subject of MANY fantasy books based entirely upon themselves, as well as their culture and it IS a rich one.

Typical eye colors are white, black, red, gold, green and the rare blue....

Is there any plan to release, if not a seperate Drow/Dark Elf race, at least their SKIN TONES for the elves in Dragon Age: Origin in DLC form (which, believe me, I would HAPPILY pay for....) or is this beautiful and deadly creature going to get the utter shaft...?

This being my only complaint, thus far, in the Dragon Age: Origins game... I am eager to know if I have something to immensely look forward to or will this disappointment continue to linger? ....here's hoping.......Posted Image

I'd imagine it has something to do with them not existing in this world. I'm sure there will be some fan-made alternatives in the future at the very least.

Unfortunately, the XBox 360 doesn't accomodate for "fan-made" anything, I'm afraid. We don't QUITE get the flexibility one sees with a PC. Still, I would happily pay for DLC just for the skin tones, to be quite honest.

So your complaining because you bought it on 360 and now you can't get the mods? It's not like buying to PC version more expensive. Infact its 10 dollars less then the console version and comes with a toolset and access to community mods. So if you want the mods get the game on PC that's all I can tell you, and don't act like you can't afford a PC that willl play Dragon Age if you can afford a 360 then you can afford a PC that can play dragon age.

Otherwise, stop complaining. If any console gets the mod it will be PS3 if they can implement it in the same way they did for UT3.

Please, dont bash people for buying the console version. As a matter of fact, none of us knows as of yet how or if user made content will be impelemented. I think its entirely possible to do so, as you can get fanmade maps for halo and the likes on xbox live. There also is free downloadable content on xbox live (yes, it does exist!), so I dont see legal shutdown for this.

Time will tell.

On topic: Dark Elves dont exist in Thedas, so thats why there is no option to create one. For now, the best you can do is to immerse yourself into the world and lore present, and play the game as it is intended. Isn't it refreshing that the game doesn't throw all the used up and watered down sterotypes at us? I for one can do without Aasimar or halflings.

Yes, because everyone has a computer that is able to play a game like Dragon Age: Origins. Think a little bit man.

$300 is not going to buy you a gaming PC.

Who cares? just enjoy the game! and yes the PC version is better then the console versions, but what is to expect? the game was made for pc, the fact that they made it for the consoles just shows how good they are, couse aside from the fact that u can't DL as much stuff to a console, the game still plays good from what i have seen of the console versions(i play on pc myself) so just enjoy, and no, Drow are not for the dragon age setting, go forgotten realms if u want that.

Yet. Given time and enough prodding I'm confident that Microsoft will find a way to allow the 360 to receive the mods. They want this machine to be the center of your entertainment set-up and allowing fan made mods to be accesible is the next logical step if they expect gamers to step away from the pc and do their gaming on the 360!

Answers lie in the answer , bless the maker !! anyway enough with that dribble. What I wanted to say is that in the PS3 version I have created a drow magi. She has a love for spiders, white hair and dark skin. So bad news you cant do that on the Xbox 360. Plus the drow skin would need spider tattoos, cuz drows love em spider tattoos! Glowy purple tattoos!

I made a gaming PC the other day for less than the cost of a piece of string and a empty tisue box. It consisted of a empty tissue box conected to a string that plugs into my ear, little invisible maegik waves TM are then deposited through input and output to my brain. The brain ! The best PC in the world, Use it !

I recently tried to make a drow elf out of the standard wild elf features. In my experience the tint of the character creation interface differs slightly from that of actual gameplay on the 360. By choosing the darkest possible skin and stark white hair my character looks convincingly drow in most types of illumination. Since either elf origin lacks at least one parent I personally like to pretend that the parent(s) in question were a subspecies native only to the Anderfels or Tevinter and thus pretty uncommon in ferelden. The black even hides those ugly wrinkles and sharp bone structure...

Drow aren't in Dragon Age. It's as simple as that DA has no dark elves. Live with it.
