I would even have prefered Khalisa...I'll never remember her name. You know, the one renegade's like to punch. She got some interesting character development in the game, it would have been fun to see that continue aboard the Normandy.

Actually I'd even prefer that Salarian reporter you do the quick side quest for.

lol yeah I know right, which is why it totally makes sense to use resources to put Jessica Chobot in ME3 instead of putting those resources to do something that actually makes sense.

It was a wasted opportunity to throw out a character that has been with us (and on the sidelines) since ME1 with a vested interest in the Commander and his/her mission in lieu of a new character whose inclusion almost reeks of "PR stunt." Being voice by a talented voice actress like Anndi McAfee helps, too. While I don't hate Chobot, I'm not a big fan of the Allers character. Subpar voice acting aside, her model triggers that annoying "uncanny valley" effect wth me. And, for a reporter, rapport with her isn't exactly riveting. Her tone seems to teeter between annoyed and bored, "Do you need something?"

I wish that Emily Wong would have been the onboard Alliance reporter. Or at least give us a choice between her and Allers (similar to Chakwas/Michel). I can even write the dialogue for her recruitment...

Shepard: Ms. Wong! Here for that exclusive I owe you?
Wong: Even better! *use your imagination*

And a romance between her and Maleshep would actually be kind of cute... unfortunately, it seems like we're stuck with Allers and Wong was granted a cheap death by Twitter... *shakes head in disappointment*

While I support a DLC that would fix this, I'm not holding my breath. Bioware would need to fix the ending, first. Then I can focus on changing cosmetic things.

Would have preferred Emily to a walking IGN advertisement. Especially after the way IGN is treating the core fanbase of the franchise. I'd like an option to field execute the twit and shove her in the trash compactor.

Yes! Emily Wong would probably have contributed more to the game. The only reason I allowed Allers on the Normandy in my second playthrough was because at times I found some of the stuff she said to be interesting. I don't mind her talks with her camera VI or anything like that, but that is about all she contributes to the story...

I only find it totally odd why Bioware needs to pander to IGN and even kills off the perfect character that could have replaced Allers in a twitter feed. I mean you are lazy with the ending (taht image, Deus Ex endings stolen) and Tali's face and so much other stuff and put time, effort and money into scanning in Jessica Chobot's face? Priorities BW?

I didnt and still dont really know who Chobot is, but her VA was passable so meh.

I was sad that not more was made of her; just seemed she asked me for like two interviews and i just said "nah, its cool, we're gonna kill the reapers" and that was that.

Should have been a subplot where she was publishing truthful but demoralising reports on the state of the war and renegade shep is all like "stop saying sad things to the troops" and paragon shep is like "freedom of the press is important, but youre not helping."

Interesting take on the role of the media in conflicts, but it never really came together.

I would say Wong.
I have to admit I didn't mind Traynor or Cortez being newbies to the series but Vega and Allers I don't know. Felt a bit odd having them around.

Before the face-to-face, I thought, "Oh, finally, Emily Wong gets her exclusive." I felt like Emily Wong was set up to be on the Normandy in ME3, and instead we get Chobot.

I think Emily Wong should have had the role, especially when she said in a message in ME2, that she was going to hold you to the 1 on 1 interview you promised her in ME1.

Not to mention they missed an opportunity to cash in on more Nostalgia from the series.
