Should Emily Wong been given the role that Jessica Chobot was given in ME3?

In the grand scheme of things, Chobot was...satisfactory (hard to take with the low quality VA at times, but the over all content was decent enough), eventhough Wong would have been so much better!

Are you guys aware that Emily Wong is presumed dead in the invasion of earth? She did a series of tweets via QED right before launch time that culminated in her apparent death while intentionally ramming a reaper with a newsvan. I actually choked up a little. Last message:
"This is how a human dies: at ramming speed!"
(sniff) I'm proud of her...

I would have prefered having Emily Wong more as fitting with the game than adding a new char heck would have even taken the reporter al-Jilani along (course i was always paragon and never punched her)on the normandy could have been intresting just since they were in the series form ME1 adding Chobot in the end was just not nessery.

Yes.
She should have.
Being murdered via twitter is one of the most horrific forms of story telling and narration ive ever seen.

Emily Wong was killed in a twitter post so that Chobot could be forced in to gain favor with IGN. She didn't have VO talent and her characterization was almost nonexistent.
Did they do it "because she was a fan", as BW said? Hell no. There are a LOT of ME fans, especially ones that have done so much more for the series, community, etc.--including ones with VO talent.

Would definitely have preferred Emily Wong...Can't stand Allers and until ME 3 i had nfi who the person behind it was (and in that case ignorance was bliss).

Yes, just because she actually has some history.

Of course. Wong at least was an interesting character. This other reporter is tacked on and pointless and obviously put in for out-of-game reasons.

After interacting with Emily Wong in Mass Effect 1 I was hoping to finally have that interview with her. It was disappointing not to hear from her (I missed any mention of her apparent death), and confused why they would supplant her with a new character (one that I felt came off a little flat).
It was a missed opportunity to revist a character from the original game.

Wouldnt want to bring on a reaper-modified Wong on my ship. Not that I liked Chobot... her delivery of dialogue was abysmal at best.

Yes. Pretty obvious they simply killed her because of that.

Emily was very nice to me in ME1, I loved her in contrast with miss Al Jilani. So yes, I would have loved that.

Emily Wong is more human than Chobot's character. Diana Allers looks like a paste and copy mannequin.

Yes I would've made the Wong choice *snicker*
And if Chobot HAD to be in game (maybe she licked a Dev's PSP or something)... They could've let her be the voice of a dying Pyjack. That's all she was good for.

Of course. Emily Wong was geniune in her intent and has been around for a long while. She was a familiar face and to have her to just kneel over dead and have this wannabe try and do her job leaves a bad taste in the mouths of many a Sheperd.

Wong would have been great, but I thought how her character was used for the ANN release-day campaign was fantastic.
