I have heard some people like planet scanning. But, I was just thinking...wouldn't it be cool if we could send squad mates out to scan planets for assets as another option? Similar to how it's done in Assassin's Creed Brotherhood.
We could assign a squad leader (echem..Garrus) and then send along several of our multiplayer characters. I think it would be an interesting minigame. You could deploy your teams to different planets and then they would be unavailable for some time, until they returned with or without the assets.

Planet scanning and the DA2 esque side quests in this game are crap, period (imo of course) .
There was something similar as you say in AC:B. And surprise surprise.. I never used that feature either.
I want to play the game with my character, not read "Garrus has returned from his mission, he was successful" .. or go and scan planets for "Prothean Obelisk" and then just go back to some random NPC on the citadel and return it, without any convo whatsoever.. when playing the game again I will skip crap like this and just edit my save game to get war assets.

I actually skipped planet scanning and citadel misisons as well. I found them to be "empty". I was trying to think of an idea that could provide a sense of managing a squad and still gain assets.
