I didn't romance anyone in my ME2 playthrough and have finished every single mission including Arrival so there was really nothing for me to do anymore. I headed down to Engineering to initiate the romance lock-in dialogues with Tali and upon selecting the "don't take too long" dialogue option the screen just stayed black with the background noise when it was supposed to cut to the Tali romance scene (where she would take her mask off). The buttons on the controller however were still responsive as when I clicked start the start menu would come up immediately. I escaped the black screen by pressing X and the game then cut to Shepard talking to Tali in Engineering, with her dialogues now corresponding to that of the locked-in state. When I went to the captain's cabin I could also call Tali up.
I've googled this problem and apparently some users have also posted about this very problem on this forum already. It seems the game has trouble playing the romance scene if you're romancing Tali after the suicide mission, with some users also reporting the problem applying to Jack as well. According to the posts I have read this problem seemed to begin after installing the Arrival DLC.
I don't have high hope for this to ever being fixed. I just want to make another submission about this problem being very real and affected players could still get out of the black screen just by pressing X, albeit without being able to see the romance scene.
