A.k.a will people still be playing this in a month?

I'm curious to know, because right now ME3 multiplayer seems to be prospering on all platforms, a lot of people are very serious about it. I mean, most of singleplayer oriented games's multiplayer seems to "die" pretty quick. Will ME3 coop become a thing now? Like L4D, Killing Floor, Payday, etc...

Depends really on how much more content BW produces. The few maps and unlockables are great for now, but really, long time motivation needs to come from somewhere else, imo. New Content is really what this is about.

Need more maps for that, which EA/Bioware will want you to pay for. That will end up fracturing the community into people who will and won't pay. THAT will be the most likely death of the Multiplayer. which is a shame since it can be quite fun. I'm starting to seriously consider trying to put together a Gold team because I'm getting bored on Silver. Or dead if the randoms can't pull their own weight.

Need more maps, maybe a new difficulty? New enemies (geth enemies). New races? Batarian/Vorcha. That would be nice.

Fighting against Mercs/Pirates would be a nice change of pace.  Ordinarily I'd say that'd give the opportunity to use weapons that violate those Intragalactic weapons treaties for enemies... but then I realize that none of the things we're shooting now would give a squit about those treaties anyway.

And that most of US are using those banned weapons as well

It needs more content in the form of maps, race/class combos, enemy factions and it will stay active for a long time imo.

It's a fairly solid starting point however. It could have used a little bit more but I can understand their hesitation about it since what the response to it was really an unknown before the demo came out.

Any improvements should be free. Or rather they should be free with a caveat.

Specifically they just need to release the "mutiplayer registry" content as a standalone item. IT would increase playerbase by basically turning ME3 multiplayer into a standalone arcade shooter. Which would attract a wider range of players.

The sell "DLC" weapons as guaranteed drops in special packs (Want a full N7 suite? 5 bucks and you get every N7 item at level 5). Never EVER release maps as paid content. It's bad for the playerbase.

Make sure everyone has the option to experience all of the content, but make money a fast track possibility while opening the game a standalone title.

The Free to Play model is the basis of that very idea right there.  You can play with all (or almost all) of the content, but money speeds things along.  Global Agenda runs in that fashion as an MMO, saw their cash income increase five fold when they changed to that business model.  I just don't know that EAware will see the same sense.  But then, I'm a cynical bastard.

Releasing maps as paid DLC is doubly bad for a community that doesn't have the size of BF3 or CoD. I don't know the specific numbers on ME3, but I doubt if it's big enough to handle the fragmenting that comes with paid DLC for multiplayer.

Other than that, I don't mind people being able to use real money to aquire gear faster than I do by just playing the game normally. As long as I can actually get that gear through playing.

Most developers don't understand the concept of "MAke everything available and they'll still buy it if it takes long enough to get"

I've seen good games make stupidly bad decisions in regards to how they distribute content.

Not with glitches that relock your entire inventory.

As much as I really just don't like DOTA games, I have to say I really like how League of Legends is set up. I can buy any champion with IP I get just by playing the game. People still buy them however because lots of people will always pay for conveinence when given the choice. The only thing they sell(as far as I can tell anyway) that you can only buy with RL money is alternate skins that have no influence on the actual gameplay.

That's sort of how I feel they should do for ME3. Keep it so that everything you can buy with money you can also get by playing the game, just at a considerably slower rate. If you really feel the need to have something that's money only, make it a different skin for a gun or something or even new armor for the character(not new races though, they have different abilities that affect gameplay).

I just nought Nautilus yesterday. OMG BEST JUNGLE EVER

OK not best I'm a Shy/Skarner/Olaf/Trundle player normally but he's my first tank jungler that I like.

Back to topic: Yes if anything should be money only it should be special artwork not stats.

If it stays as is, no. I'm already bored of the maps and considering I just lost all my characters and weapons thanks to this bug I'm about to trade the game in or put it down for good if something isn't done fast.

It won't have nearly the staying power of the games that are focused on multiplayer. Halo Reach still has a very large and active playerbase more than a year after release, but ME3's multiplayer options are a small fraction of Reach's. (And don't get me started on the CoD games...) I give it one month, maybe two, before it becomes a ghost town. The backlash the game has been getting for its ending doesn't help either.

If you have gamestop I think they offer $30 in store credit for a trade in until... Like next week I think. Maybe.

Anyway, I'm not afraid of the content lock glitch. I haven't spent money and don;t intend to and I like the multiplayer plenty as it stands.

Honestly it doesn't take MUCH to make a multiplayer shooter that has a lasting community. As long as bioware keeps updating the balance and throws out an occasional new option it'll last pretty decently. Especially on xbox.

But if they're smart they'll put resources into expanding this as a standalone. There's no reason not to and they could even sell the MP only portion for like 15-20 bucks on its own. A little more content and they could get a REALLY strong following.

Free money EA. I know you can hear me.

Depends how much real money people are spending on multiplayer packs. It's entirely possible that they could end up paying bioware to produce new content for everyone.

Will it eventually die off? Yeah probably in a few months. The thing is the MP is just a nice add on to the game. If I got a month out of the MP I would think that's a pretty good deal.

I suspect that MP will be really expanded in ME4 and such.

Lol, I think the half-life of this game is like... At least a couple of orders of magnitude higher than that.

Edit: ****, stupid me didn't check the OP time. Well, I'd say my estimate wasn't that bad after all... XD
