i think M99 Sabre is the best , its so accurate and powerful , can easy headshot
Mattock is good but less accurate and less damage per shot
Revenant is not accurate but has high damage per second still less useful in long range
i not yet have particle beam so dont know it

It really depends on the situation. My solider with shield drain as a bonus power loves it. I drain their shields and one or two shots and their dead. If I know I'm going up against a Banshee or Atlas something that puts out more bullets is better because it eats away at those stronger shields/barriers faster.

Particle beam is kinda weak IMO.

I stuck with the Revenant throughout the majority of the game just for its ROF superiority for wave type encounters. I kinda liked the n7 avenger(or whatever the preorder weapon was) but it didn't seem to have enough ammo for my liking.

I'm rocking the Phaeston at the moment, and I like it a lot. Pretty good accuracy with a good rof.

I know you find it late, but the Saber became my favorite weapon exactly two shots after picking it up. Hits like a sniper, firest semi-auto, accurate enough that without a sniper-scope, I mail-slotted the next four guardins I came across.

And Asyntheticdesign, the particle beam becomes stronger the longer you fire the beam. If you let it run completely out of juice with the Armor-breaker ammo power, you can take out an Atlas in one continues fire on normal, and a Banshee in two.

There is no best, but I believe the the Vindicator to be a strong overall choice for classes that need to keep their weapon loadout light, and the Valkyrie to be a strong option if you're just looking to bring a great all around weapon that can tackle any situation.

The Particle Beam, I wouldn't recommend. The problem with it is that it requires a constant stream of fire to be effective, which puts you at too much risk on hardcore/insanity in many situations, and it is right on par with the heaviest assault rifles weight-wise.

The Particle Beam is quite viable with the Soldier or Infiltrator hybrid builds but not much else in my opinion. You can take it as your only weapon but if you do, your committing all your weapon damage to come from a steady stream of on target fire, as opposed to burst damage, like the Saber, Vindicator, Valkyrie, and the like can provide, which seems to me to be the safer and more effective mode of dealing AR damage on the higher difficulties.

I love them all, except the Argus, it really doesn't call to me. Phaeston, Revenant and Particle Beam are my top favorites, but I heard the Saber it's good too. Haven't found it yet.

The particle rifle is really good if you use it correctly.

It has no recoil

It is perfectly accurate

Does a lot of damage as long as you use the large barrel, the ammo expander, and a good ammo power.

I just love it.

I can't answer which assault rifle is the best, but my favorite is the Prothean Particle Beam.

The Argus is my least favorite. Really bummed about it doesn't have any real advantages over other rifles. With that aside N7 Valkyrie/Mattock I tip my hat to.

I missed the saber the first time through, so I didn't get the chance to use it. My style was using an upgraded Vindicator to take on Cerberus, Geth Rifle against Geth, and use the Revenant against Reapers. Vindicator is accurate and powerful, Geth Rifle is super quick and shreds through shields and synthetics, and the Revenant blasts back enemies and it has high damage. It also holds more which is good for the long battles you'll face against Reapers. I also found that with the stability damper mod that it can be fire pretty well without having to zoom in, so it was invaluable against Husk bum rushes.

The Revenant is pretty good. I've been kicking a lot of a** with it upgraded to Mark X and equipped with Armor-Piercing and Stability mods. It's pretty nice. Actually, is about as overpowered as it's ME2 counterpart. I'm starting to wonder why people said it was so bad in the Multiplayer demo... everyone said it was extremely nerfed.

The M-37 Falcon is another one of my faves. So much better than that ridiculous M-100 Grenade Launcher in ME2. It's a whole lot more reliable, more fun to shoot, and it doesn't run out of ammo as easily.

My soldier quite likes using the upgraded Argus with level 6 ammo powers, stability mod, scope and Marksman ability at medium to short range. Otherwise, Rev if facing very mobile enemies, Mattock with Scope if I leave the sniper rifle at home, or Valkyrie. Vindicator I'm leaving for my biotic playthroughs, never been any good with Chakram launcher (can't hit anything with it) and Particle beam is better as a squad weapon with Javik.

Big fan of the Vindicator myself. Hits hard and if you aim for the center of the chest, it's basically a double tap plus headshot because of the recoil.

I actually agree. I kinda love the Avenger, which is wierd because I loathed it in 2. But with an ammo upgrade (over the barrell or with barrell + it) it is really strong. It was my rifle on my insanity playthrough as an infiltrator. Super lightweight, super fast reload, puts out a hail of gunfire...I adore it.
