done for Bioware games) ME3. As the launch date neared I tried to stay as spoiler free as possible, but no one could miss the uproar over the leaked ending spoilers. While I have avoided any details about the ending, I am aware that there is major disappointment (to put it mildly) with how this game ends. Sadly I may never find out. You see, I received my game on the day of release and promptly found out the none of my 7 ME2 saves can import my characters face into ME3!?!?!?!?!!!!!!!!!!!! I get the stupid error message stating the face code cannot be imported. I am then left to recreate my face manually. ONLY PROBLEM IS SEVERAL FACIAL FEATURES I HAVE USED ARE NO LONGER PART OF THE CHARACTER CREATION SYSTEM! That's right, I cannot import any of my existing characters, and I cannot recreate them manually because some of my features have been removed. Even worse is that this was known about as early as the demo and was still released this way!
As much as I would love to comment on all the furor over the endings, I CAN'T EVEN TELL YOU HOW THE GAME BEGINS! Forget about the many glitches and bugs I've read people complaining about, or how the ending ruins the franchise, I CAN'T EVEN START THE GAME! My only option is to start ME3 as a completely different character, or wait and hope they decide to fix this problem.
I mean really! Apparently this game was finished with enough time to spare that EA was able to add on some day one DLC as well as include a multiplayer feature that a whole ton of nobody was clamoring for, BUT THEY COULDN'T BE BOTHERED TO FIX THE CHARACTER IMPORT SYSTEM THEY KNEW WAS BROKEN!!!. That's right, they knew the character import feature was broken, but decided that DLC ($$$) and multiplayer ($$$) came before the most loyal fans (the ones carrying characters over from ME1). Now I also hear that you cannot get the best possible SINGLE PLAYER STORY outcome WITHOUT PLAYING MULTIPLAYER!!!! So because my Xbox is not connected to my internet at all times, and because I don't have time to play multiplayer (hence why I typically choose single player games like ME1 & ME2) games and therefore do not want to waste money on an Xbox Live Gold subscription that I would never use, because all of this I am going to get shafted on the conclusion to a single player story...doe this make sense?
To sum up, I bought the 3rd part of my favorite SINGLE PLAYER, STORY DRIVEN RPG, only to find out I have to play as a different character than the one I played in parts 1 & 2, also to find out that the only way to get the most satisfying end to a THREE GAME LONG, SINGLE PLAYER story is to cough up more money to play the last minute, unwanted, un-asked for, tacked on at the last minute BS multiplayer feature. This just reeks of EA, I'm so sorry to see what has become of the once shining jewel of video game developers known as Bioware. Used to be you could always count on Bioware for a great story, choices that mattered and a world you could lose yourself in. Now it's just more of the same old EA money grab. R.I.P. Bioware. EAware will never fool me into parting with my money ever again.
