It really rustled my jimmies that he didn't have an introduction. He's just there. Like he's always been there. The first thing I said when Shepard is in the office and James comes in was, "So who the **** are you again?".
Zero introduction. Made zero sense.

I thought he was a cool character, though I was worried for a bit that he might turn out in the end to be indoctrinated. He has a Zaeed one liner that sounds kind of ominous, where he asks if anyone else is hearing a humming noise. In retrospect I guess it was just a random bit of dialogue where he was complaining about the background noise of machinery on the Normandy, but it sounded at the time like he was describing a symptom of the initial stages of Reaper indoctrination. Auditory hallucinations are one of the initial symptoms.

To me he's pointless charecter Bioware could've put Jack or Grunt in his place.

You learn nothing about him except that he gets accepted to something spoilerific. And that's it. The rest of the time, he's passing comments about other people. It's just that we don't know him from previous games so even though he probably has the same amount of dialogue as everyone else, he's still too much of an alien. And he's not controversial enough to be memorable, unlike Javik.

He's good, just not as good as others.

He's alright. I like his banter with Cortez and Garrus. But I find all the humans kinda boring. At least he wasn't a total meat-head like the promotional material made him seem like.

LOVE him both personality-wise and combat-wise. He's like a little brother to my Shep.
He and Garrus were my to go team unless the mission was locked for specific characters.

I never use or like him. Surprisingly, Javik became my favorite character out of the whole game.

Less bland than Jacob

I think he is the most stereotyped and bland Military Bro type I have ever encountered in a game. Terrible.
I suppose he is targetted at Call of Duty / Gears of War folk.

I lost all interest about him when I learned he wasn't romanceable.

To be interesting for these he needs to have a lot more scenes that involve smashing bound prisoner's teeth in.

Vega's one of my favorite characters from 3. His interactions with Garrus and Joker have been fantastic and his conversations with Esteban are some of my favorites.
The explanation of the incident brought up in his comic debut was interesting and it kind of makes me wish that he had been in ME2 or an ME2 DLC.

I wish he could have died on Virmire instead of Kaiden.

I thought he looked stupid before the game was released. He was too big and reminded me of the oversized models from Gears or War .
But I don't think i've done a mission without taking him along, much to my suprise. Now he's my right hand man. His voice acting is spot on.

He grew on me. In all honesty, he was the most "human" character on the Normandy.

Easily one of my favorite squadmates now. I really enjoy the banter he has with everyone and really just his attitude in general - his enthusiasm makes me smile, I guess. I took him everywhere and didn't regret it a bit. Plus, Carnage is an awesome power that comes in hand quite a bit.

I like him, he has a use, that if I didn't have a preference I can use anyone in the character roster.
I like it, I have the desire to use other characters instead of the same two or three people now. It's not Vega, but Tali, EDI, Liara, Kaidan. Everyone is usable more than ever.
I've liked him since before the game came out, and like Multiplayer I supported the idea during the drama bleed before the game.

He worked out nicely unlike that ghastly Diana Allers. Bioware tried too hard to make her look hot but ended up making a baby face, chubby cheek, empty eyed and most of all, extremely boring looking and sounding character. That's not a reporter material at all unless they have some real time voice enhancers in that universe.
I believe the real intro to Vega was his "dance" with Shepard. It was implemented pretty good.

Surprisingly, I ended up really liking him. I'd thought he was just going to be a blockhead soldier-type, but he ended up being really likable and down-to-earth. I think Freddie Prince done a great job with the voice acting.

Only people I can understand not liking him are the Latin-American players who hate his lack of an accent with his bi-lingual random moments.

Sounded like they did all his filming in the middle of a bedroom or something. His sounds didn't sound as clear as everyone else.
That, or Freddie Prinze Jr. has the worst vocals ever, even worse than Chobits. (I've never seen anything with him in it so if this is true, someone tell me why he was cast for this).
His fake Spanish was also obnoxious. He sounded like he was reading each word from a translation book complete with pronunciation, for the first time ever.
And his character meshing was awful. Shoulders do not look like that unless the rest of you looks like that, meaning the shoulders would not be nearly so pronounced.
He basically looked like a reject from Gears of War.
I did like the femshep nickname though.

I loved Vega. I loved his reactions to things that to Shepard or Garrus was old news. Besides that, he murders everything that moves. I can't remember one time that I had to waste medi-gel on him, unlike Liara's, pretty, non-fighting, ass. I also like the dichotomy between him, a grunt- an awesome grunt, by still a grunt, and Shepard: the larger-than-life hero of the galaxy. I like how Vega showed that Shep was a tad out of touch at times with the common soldier, even though he didn't mean to be. It humanized Shepard a lot.
