Someone posted this in the hallucination topic.

Probably been posted, but just in case it hasn't: http://i1115.photobu...31778596081.png

Boy-binger... not surprised in the least.

Man i will feel so finally happy for everybody. when we can all just agree on what really went down.

this is not "holier then thou" as i would be willing to accept something else if it made sense and could be backed up.

Indoctrination theory is getting harder and harder to logically disprove.

Doesn't  he also say to "preserve Shepard's body if possible", I always assumed Harbinger wanted shepards body not needed it.

In "Arrival" he says he wants Shepard's mind. He also tells his minions to patch you up, and you're kept alive for 2 days within 20 feet of a Reaper artifact, Object Rho. If they wanted to kill you they had 48 hours to act on it.

That's what makes me wish we had talked to him instead of the child in the end, everything would have fit.

would have been to obvoius, nobody would have trusted him and the wieght of the indoc attempt woud have been gone.

That's exactly right.  You *are* talking to Harbinger, it's just that when you are being indoctrinated, Harbinger doesn't show up in your brain and say "Hi, I'm Harbinger, and I'm here to enslave you now".  He works to your weakness -- TIM's was power-lust, and he was corrupted by that, Saren's was this desire to transcend/evolve/be better than everyone else, and he was corrupted by that.  In that sequence, Harbinger is trying to see if he can use either of these temptations to get Shepard to succumb, but he is using the boy image and voice to do so (yet notice it is also combined with the voices of Meer and Hale, indicating, yet again, this is taking place inside Shep's head).  To use his own image and voice would defeat the entire exercise.

completely correct, and now we basically KNOW that harby is Boy-binger

ah, that does make sense, and I did see a video on the voices. Alright, I'm on board for indoctrination theory, I've tried but i can't see any other explanation.

Sure hope so.  It would be very sad to see the entire series end with a nail in the coffin.

with EA/Bioware's DLC track record and business models... you don't need hope. You need denial to believe they WONT release one.

Its coming, I can assure you that as If a had heard it from Casey Hudson himself.

I'm an extremely skeptical person, so I won't believe it until I see it.  I will stop short of saying I'm "hopeful" by saying I "suspect" that they will release something that does continue the end.  You're right: their track record of improving their games and DLC based on fan input is really impressive.

hmm. it sounds like you assume DLC will be because of fan dislike for the ending (could be wrong)

My view is this was the idea all along, its not an afterthought, they always planned "ending" DLC

That's certainly possible, I wouldn't rule it out.  The Shep in the rubble pile may really point to that.  Personally though, I think they were giving us a "6th Sense" ending and leaving it open.  I think an "ending-fix" DLC would be more in the desire to satisfy fans and make some extra money with targeted DLC.

Interesting point Hex23. I remember that whole conversation in arrival but it was something I just filed away but now that you mention it, it makes sense. I can also see the boy being "Harby" and talking to Shepard to try and sway him. But didn't the other reaper that they killed on Rannoch say something to Shepard also? And didn't they also kill it with conventional weapons? Albeit it was a helluva a fight. :)

with all due respect i think your giving the outrage way too much credit.
(not proof of course) but twitter and statements i have read lead to believe that this is all going according to plan. game releases. the buzz about the end, good or bad, will advertise worldwide, for free the upcoming DLC..

nothing like that ever happens so well to companies like EA/Bioware they are in perfect position know to enact the final stage of the plan. in a sense ME3 itself is just one giant setup/advertisement for the juicy "true" ending

The writers AND the marketers are genius. ME3 will be a collosal financial success and after the DLC is bought and played by everybody, we will all forget about this discussion right now.

I guess I can accept this theory, but I just have a couple questions... Sorry if you have already answered them.

1) So does the process of getting hit by the beam force indoctrination (which makes no sense), or are we to extrapolate that Shep lies on the ground for awhile after being hit, and Harbinger tries to indoctrinate Shep as he bleeds out/dreams?

2) I know this question has been raised, but I still haven't heard a sufficient answer. Without MP/iOS it is nearly impossible to obtain a 4000 EMS, so it would seem all these players (let it be noted, that ME1/ME2 had been built on the singleplayer experience) are screwed out of getting the "correct" ending, simply because they don't have internet access or felt they didn't really need the MP (my choice). How could this possibly be justified?

yes "Reapers are invincable" is a misguided idea, IN THE GAME. People say it, but they are wrong. Shepard and friends prove this over and over.

They are just damn tough.

Yeah, the needing to play online sucks. You _cannot_ get the good ending without online.

Well it would definitely be in their best interest to continue the storyline. I mean, Mass Effect is such a huge IP, to completely end it would be a pretty foolish use of a multi-million dollar investment.  I mean, I was satisfied with the game either way.  I like tragedies (Hamlet and Othello are some of my favorite), so if the game ends the way it does now, that's cool.  If they add a new ending on via DLC, that's cool too. I'd prefer the latter though because I think ME really champions choice, and I know a lot of people are very saddened by the way it ended.

No one says they're invincible, bonehead. It takes everyone in the universe to take out a single one, and by the end, they can barely take out a single Reaper they are so weakened militarily.

1. it was all the circumstances, Shep getting critacally wounded, being in a weary/dying/weakend mental state, having at this point the FULL focus of harby and reapers looking directly at him at that moment, his sheer proximy to harby and massive amounts of reaper tech, the UNBELIEVABLE mental stress that is crushing Sheps sanity....

he can fight it any longer, he slips....   or does he *breath*

2.  cant answer that, i can say that for me it moot cause i like and play MP, I do think its not a smart move unless they patch the levels of some war assets to raise the SP total or lower the requirements for the ending to match. It SHOULD be attainable by SP methods alone albiet alot harder.
