You have at least given us an insight into the process, and I am grateful for that. I really want to begin playing Mass Effect 3, but cannot bring myself to do so unless I can do it properly. So I thank you for this note, and hope you guys at Bioware can square this all up as soon as possible.



I feel the same way...It's been sooooo frustrating not to play with my FemShep created a long time ago. Thanks for touching base with us, Bioware!;)

Thanks for the acknowledgement, though more specifics would be preferable to a vague disclaimer. I don't know much about the internal workings of not just the industry, but the workplace, too. I think it's important to realise that none of us may understand that aspect, either.

I will say I am incredibly disappointed about the amount of errors that were left in the release version, though. It's always been a huge peeve of mine, and it seems like it's a standard method of operation these days. In fact, I'd rather have a pushed back release date due to error fixing than meet a release date with a ton of disappointing bugs.

I know this is not the case for a lot of fans (they're so hard to please, ha), but some of these things seem just incredibly negligent.

I'm still not over the import bug (and I doubt I ever will be until it's fixed), but if there are people who can't even play the game, I'm rather appalled it made it to release anyway.

Most of the issues revolve around game crashes/freezing, and EA server connection failures in the middle of matches in MP. And these are apparent after the audio starts crapping out. Most of this happens on the Citadel transport, and the Normandy's elevator. As far as mulitplayer crashes go, I'm not to sure on what causes those, I did all the recommended actions to stop these but they keep happening.

It'd be nice to know more on the issues of black screens at the start screen, black screens after the epilogue (so no new game+ for me and others), and losing all of your items for multiplayer...

If at all possible, of course. Information seems to be stymied for some reason...

IGN had a story today regarding the character import bug being fixed on the next patch. Is this news, or are they using Chris' post in this thread and rehashing it to have a story?

And don't hate on me checking out IGN...please?

I am not sure where to post this issue, so here goes.

Starting a new ME3 character, an Infiltrator, the War Assets were full/complete at beginning of game. I started off with everything and had no War Asset updates throughout the game. Is this how you intended it to be? New characters (vs. imports) start off with all of the War Assets. What is the point.

P.S. - there was one War Asset update. When the Tuchanka Bomb went off and the Krogan forces were depleted the War Asset did decrease. All I have to say is weird.

All I really want to know is if the Donnelly and Daniels bug is being worked on?  I'm not concerned with waiting, I understand the trial and error process, I want to know if it has enough "triage" to even be considered because another representitive implied that it may not be fixed however content bugs are the most annoying to me.  I can deal with freezing a few times during loading screens or abilities not firing off right, but I hate missing out on story elements because I decided to sacrifice Williams instead of Alenko.

So you should be able to max your readiness then stay away from the game for a year, come back and the galaxy still be 100% ready?  You don't need the percentage to get the most out of the game.  Without trying to give away any spoilers, do as many side-quests as you can (especially the hunt and gather missions) and you will get enough total military strength that the 0.5 multiplier won't matter.  If you really want to get the x1.0 boost then play multiplayer after you get near the end of ME3.  Your single player save won't degrade.

Yes I know the point is you don't want to play SP right now, but the degradation in the readiness makes sense and does not stop you from reaching your goal.

They do test BEFORE RELEASE.  As with the Donnelly and Daniels glitch, the Normandy was already 100% tested; however, not long before shipping another bug with Ashley's dialogue on the Citadel was fixed that introduced the Donnelly bug and since that segment was already completely tested, it was not retested (could you really guess the two might have been related?)

Releasing a bug-free rich RPG isn't an easy task, not if they wanted to meet the deadline, which they didn't for quality ensurance, how many times are they supposed to put the game off? If they tried to fix every little thing in any game, they game would never be released.

180 degress head spin when in conversations
Random crash when trying to enter the firing range

 

The head spin thing I noticed in ME2 in non-plot conversations though I never saw it (even in ME3) to go 180 degrees.  Probably just something wrong with the actual animations they made.

Crash when entering the firing range, have had that too, but I quicksave a lot so it's not a big deal for me, would rather see more story-patches.

Import issues should probably be fixed first.  Even though I don't have an issue with it, it really has a lot of priority.

Didn't know about that bug until after I posted that, probably should've went back and fixed it.  Though, from what I read, they don't know what is causing the back screen bug, but if they can already fix the import bug, then yes.  Why stone wall people with that bug affecting them while you try to discover what is causing another bug?  At least get some people into the game.

The import issue has been fixed.  It's awaiting certification from Microsoft.

anyone notice that there's a problem with the color "black" under "Tints"in single player mode. it just stays grey. in Multiplayer it seems fine

According to the "triage" process that Priestly describes in the OP, bugs that completely prevent people from playing the game are top priority.

So why is there no news whatsoever about the Black Screen of Death fix?

Because a broken OPTIONAL SIDE QUEST that only affects ONE VERSION of the game is obviously BioWare's highest concern (that is aside from making DLC ).

I wonder what happens when a flawed patch that causes the game to become unplayable makes it through certification? Seems they didn't consider that possibility.

Yeah I just updated, and now everytime it tries to connect o the EA Server, my x360 is freezing, anyone else having this issue?

I have the same problem - just updated and now the screen just says checking downloadable content, loading in bottom right hand corner, and not going anywhere.

Get the same trouble which started only when I got cut off from a game 2 seconds before we got out, went back in and twice now it freezes on the title screen when it says "connecting to ea server"
