Do Vanguards annoy anyone else? [Edit: What they should and shouldn't do]

Kids may be sometime annoying to play with, but that doesn't mean you should get all high and mighty with people. In the end, judging by the score, I ended up doing the most work.

I'm not sure how that differs from other caster classes, Adepts for most part just alternate between two abilities for 'splosions. Engineers might end up spamming a single key, followed by spamming another one (strip shields, burn down armor).heshkelgaii wrote...
In other words Vanguards are great for farming credits, not so great if you like doing something other than Y, Rb, Rb... or on pc 1, 2, 2...
Krogan Soldier pretty much just spams Carnage non stop.
Nova Takes approximately 50% of your barriers when you use it, if you take the Nova ability that gives you 2 Novas at 60% it leaves you with barriers in tact. But you are correct to say that it isn't much different in terms of pressing buttons, however I've went entire waves not knowing where I am half of the time. Also in the middle of a big group of enemies there isn't always time to worry about who you are going to charge, I've made the mistake of lining up my next charge instead of just taking the risk at the banshee ahead of me and falling over dead by a cannibal from half way across the map.
To me they just seem boring, but possibly also because I've had several days in a row where all I'm doing is playing a Vanguard, promoting, and trying out new builds. I saw earlier about a guy mentioning a shockwave build, and contrary to what I said in my previous post I think I'm going to try it out, mainly because I want to be able to set up my own biotic explosions.

That would be extremely annoying. I admit I'm not much for kids, but I never degrade them in game.
Also personally score is irrelevant, I usually start a new character using the GPS just to be effective when playing, but I tend to be in the first or second spot when I do, however It seems silly to worry so much about it in the very least. Xp is easy to get in MP.

I usually find my teammates to be annoying because they all insist on backing into a corner like it's Call of Duty. I understand wanting to stick together, but when they literally will not leave their building on firebase Ghost even when there are 2 phantoms and 3 atlases inside, it gets me pretty peaved. I'm generally experienced enough as a Vanguard that the only time I die is when the game occasionally glitches out and doesn't let me charge. But if you give me an area to move around in nearby your position, I can lock down an area like no other.
The biggest thing that bugs me is Krogan soldiers. Was going for the damn Reaper challenge, made it to round 9 because the damn krogan KEPT CHARGING EVERYTHING. BANSHEES. BRUTES. RAVAGERS. I spent like 6 minutes running around getting repeatedly cornered by banshees and ravagers.
Next game I joined? We had a team of biotics who took down brutes literally in under 10 seconds. It was beautiful.

1) Noob Vanguards
2) Vanguards too far away for me to care.
I'm fine with everything else they do. Them stealing my kills means less people shooting at me. This is Co-op, people. We get more credits the faster we complete a task, I often get first place for assisting them, and they're thankful that I overloaded their shields to make their lives easier.

After the last match I did today I've decided not to revive any idiot Vanguards anymore, it's a waste of my time and more often then not a waste of the little medigel I have to start with.
I will gladly help a good Vanguard who understands that he\\she is part of a team and understands they need to work with people, not go off and try to pull a Jack or a Shepard.
The bottom line is don't be a hero, a hero is someone who is someone who is smart enough to come up with a plan, dumb enough to execute it, and lucky enough to come out alive.

Wud.?
When I play Vanguard vs Cerberus, I charge Phantoms all the time! Heck, I just had a Gold match on Giant when we got swarmed by Phantoms during our Extraction (and you should know how cramped those quarters are in that spot, no good Vanguard territory, perfect for Phantoms). During that time, I more than once encountered two Phantoms at once, without help, both having me as their target. I still kept charging and Nova'ing them away.
I did that with every Phantom I could see that was in save charging territory. Some were already Stasis'ed, so I gave our Adept some free Biotic Explosions, but a good share of the total Phantoms I took on where not frozen in place. That takes my count on Phantoms killed by charging and then killing them in the dozens, with about a half of them having been in perfect fine condition to fight back.
It didn't end badly even once. Not a single time got I instakilled.
In fact, Vanguards are the same effective in taking out Phantoms as Asari Adepts are.

If the ****** decides to go kamikazee to the opposite side of the map on silver/gold's later waves, screw it, let them die and hope they either learn or leave. Otherwise try to stay somewhat mobile to cover them.
Vanguards: when it gets hairy charge into enemies that your teammates have line of sight on. Can't stay alive? Go back to bronze.

Yeah, there are douches everywhere. And I don't particulary love kids either.

Oh, sorry, I didn't knew my Engineers, Adepts, Infiltrators and sorts needed so much more skill to press the buttons I use for my playstyles. Guess I did it wrong all the time.

Decided to play some warp-throw Sentinel, and there was a decent Vanguard in the team. Warp one in the group, Vanguard charges it, BOOOM. Rinse, repeat. Same for big threats like Brutes, just spam Warp and a Novaguard will immediatelly detonate it. Now if I'd find an Sentinel/Adept to do the same when I'm running novaguard.

Heh, yeah. Like I implied, the other half of the time I wasn't wrecking Phantom behinds alone, I was simply charging wherever a blue sphere appeared (if it was moderatly save to charge there, there was this one time when there were two Phantoms ducking behind cover, getting Stasis'ed and I was already all twitchy to get my hands on them, but two Atlas and some Assault Troopers plus a smoke screen spelled doom on that urge ... so all I could do was wait).
Stasis is a great target painter for Vanguards.
Maybe we should play sometimes.

I admit that I do run off, all the time. I'm only playing on bronze though, so I never end up dead when I'm miles away from the rest of the team. I just pick off the smaller crowds that are trying to flank my teammates. Only when we're all bunched together trying to upload or extract and there's about 3 brutes and a banshee cornering us do I end up dying.
My shotgunnung and charging method is effective against Brutes, but Banshees are still the bane of my freaking life.
If I miraculously become a decent player then I could be of use as a vanguard on silver and gold levels. But right now, should the rest of my team fall there is no chance I can hold my own and finish a wave as a vanguard.
...or as any class.
Man I suck.

I'm with them on Vanguards killing Phantoms. In one of the games, my team mate went down because of a phantom. Using charge and nova (along with some help from my shot gun), manage to kill it and revive my team mate.
The thing is, vanguards are quite a liability against geth waves, since most of them either have shields or armor. =S

That's why players hate Vanguards... zooming around away from the rest of the team and acting as a lone wolf. I used it as a support to keep enemies from flanking the rest of the team and watching their backs to stop any enemies sneaking up on teammates... Comes in useful for rezzing too as you can stop the enemy stamping on downed teammates.
The Vanguards I hate are the ones who take your kill just as you are about the finish an enemy. It wastes firepower (I'm not bothered about kill stealing... would rather the Vanguard take down another enemy while I'm taking down mine).
