I would have kicked you too. Charging a banshee is a noob move.
Please, by all means. I'd rather not play with someone incapable of reading the context of my statements and haven't yet figured out that smart vanguards can manipulate banshees' behavior and apply gross generalizations.

but i have to admit that i hate the scream before/while performing a Nova -.-
just yesterday i had to solo the 9th round against reapers (silver) after all my mates died... wanst fun and also damn annoying with all the screaming coming from my character
btw. right now i'm only playing carnifex novaguard since it's so damn fun to play, so i might switch to my adept classes soon since i havent played em once since i bought the game (and yet they are at lvl14 just from multiple class packs)

Earlier, I was sniping Reapers in Tuchanka in one of the late waves from the higher position overlooking most of the field and I forgot to keep looking to the right to see if any baddies were coming up. Suddenly the Vanguard faces me from across the map, charges me and I see 2 dead husks behind me. Could've hugged him there and then.

If I die alone, it's because nobody followed me. I hate to sound corny, but Vanguards lead, you follow.
I agree with almost everything else in your post, except this. I disagree that Vanguards are set-and-designated leaders.
It's a team effort - everyone works together on equal footing... There is no set leader. This tactic completely outs snipers, for example. Mobile teams work, but not every time in every situation.
I don't think he was saying that Vanguard are team leaders, it's just the way the class works. It's not a defensive class, it's meant to be played on the front line and aggressively. Not to say that you can't play smart and aggresively.

It's hard to say, really. I've played with some really good vanguards, and they make life a whole lot easier for everyone else.
Yes, they DO die. They're charging into the thick of things, every now and then something's going to go wrong. Try to save them if you can, and if you can't, they'll have to wait till the end of the round.
That said, I do agree there's too many Vanguards out there that aren't any good at it and they just become a liability. Not much you can do about it, sadly. I had two of those clowns in a game last night, and after they both dropped like flies on level 3 (Bronze, no less), they both quit. Leaving me and one guy to finish the game. (We wiped on lvl 10.)
That said, a level 1 (and N7 level 1) vanguard joined my game earlier, and I was like "Oh, bloody great..."
But, you know, I let the guy stay, since we were all level 1 at one point, and he was actually a really good player. He charged smartly, ressed companions, and he died a total of 2 or 3 times in the whole game.
Like with everything else, it's just the quality of the player.
I feel like I was in that game with the 2 quitters and level 10 wipe. If I wasn't, I was in one just like it.

Yep, you cant' shoot through players and it's damn annoying when you waste a Mantis round because a damn vanguard charge in front of your target when you fire. Especially when the said vanguard dies in the next seconds and then yells on his mic to be revived (i tend to let him became friend with the floor in that case, better for my nerves).

I 've played one in singleplayer throughout the whole series because it was easy to be invincible but in MP I just find them downright annoying

For a Human Vanguard it all comes down to pretty much dump any weapon (take the lightest SMG w /weight reduction mod) and Charge/Nova into the right enemy groups, Charge around Atlasses,Phantoms, Banshees, Brutes and kill all other troups leaving your team space to kill the bigger mobs with Instakill you can't charge on your own. And always circle around enemys (especially Turrets) when Novaing and waiting for next Charge to avoid direct dmg.

There are some really simple rules to follow when playing with a vanguard.
Vanguards excel at killing lesser enemies but have problems with boss units, and thats something to think about, when ur a vanguard try to clear the field of lesser mobs so that ur teammates can kill boss mobs without being harassed by cerberus troopers for example.
Vanguards should have a slow and methodic playstyle, the fact that you can rush through the map does not mean that you should..
Also the charge ability is a great mobility tool, when you have to get to an objective fast just charge something nearby and then just run for the objective, this way u can also help ur teammates when they are down or just are getting overwhelmed
And the most imortant thing - know when to charge!!! u should charge armored boss units only when you know that youll be able to finish them off before they can retaliate, or that youll be able to escape without getting killed... alot of the times a vanguard just has to stay back and put in damage with their secondary weapon xD

Also, I don't care at all about kill stealing, unless its a biotic charge from across the map, that just a slap in the face

Vanguard's are great at saving people (Just like Infiltrators, only we can prevent people from dying easier as we're on-route.), but as has been said before - the slightest bit of lag will murder-rape us into a corner.
Another fun scenario for Vanguards? Ravagers. Charge in, roll to the right, nova, charge, nova - you keep it off your allies as they unload on it because Ravagers attack the closest target. Your nova's knock off a -ton- of it's health, and you often times can really help someone out this way.
Another fun enemy is the Brute. You can charge as he starts charging you, and since you'll warp to his previous position, you'll biotic charge -through- him and wind up behind him, preventing insta-gib. This also allows you to control him, because like ravagers he'll attack the closest target (most) of the time.
I play to protect my friends and anyone I work with, in the end. Even still, I'd love to work with anyone who doesn't like Vanguards and show them just what a force we can be when played intelligently.

That being said, I don't fly across the map in the open and try to stick to close quarters.
