So...were previous Romances for FemSheps completely pointless?

Yes, yes, we all know about Liara and how you can romance her no matter what gender, but my Shepard that romanced Thane was straight and would've maybe gone for a different guy, but small problem with that as well: the only guys that I could romance in ME3 were either dead (Kaidan, since ME1) or I had to replay through ME2 to make sure that I was with them.
And then I have to wonder 'oh well, maybe the guys have it just as bad or something since us girls are having a small choice in males to pick from now.
Nope, I was wrong because apparently all of the romances from ME2 (Tali, Miranda, Jack) were all SUCCESSFULLY crossed over while Garrus was the only one from the FEMSHEP options.
So, let's see if we got this right:
Tali, Jack, Miranda could all be transfered if you romanced them in ME2 as Male-Shepard, also maybe adding Ash and Liara if you stayed loyal to them rather than being a complete ass to them. So that gives any Shepard that's lucky enough to be a guy ALL of your previous options being secured along with somehow getting 3 more options, one of them being Kaidan of all people.
So you guys have nothing to worry about while any FemShep that romanced Thane or Jacob and maybe nuked Kaiden in the process, have less guys and somehow gained two more female romance options for ME3.
And if my math is right...total of Romances in ME3 for girls is: 6, but only if you managed to transfer two of those romances over from ME2 and hope that one of them wasn't Thane if you were expecting him to live long enough until the end and you didn't nuke Kaiden. 1/2 of them are guys and the other half are girls, but with the 'wrong choices', you'll end up with 1 guys and 3 girls, the guy not even romancable at this point.
The guys total: 7-8. I say that because while there is a total of 8, only one of them can be Ash or Kaiden. And this total can only work if and ONLY IF THE THREE ME2 romance options were ACTUALLY romanced. And there's only 1-2 guys, but 5-6 girls DEPENDING on who you romanced in ME2.
I don't mind that Bioware is trying to be a bit more 'diverse' when it comes to romance, I just find it unfair that there are some unlucky FemSheps who have to play through ME2 or the entire series over because they couldn't keep their romance with Thane or Jacob til the end of the game.
I just felt like the game was saying, 'oh you romanced this character in ME2? Too bad! They're either with someone else or going to die in the middle of the game rather than maybe staying alive til the end of the game like all the other characters you can possibly romance. And your only options by this point are either someone you MAY HAVE killed in the first game, or you have to replay the entire ME2 again to get the only other guy, or one of three girls that you may or may not enjoy because we're assuming that you like swinging both ways. Enjoy the rest of the game either way.'
Argue that I'm wrong or w/e, I don't care. I feel that I should at least say something about past romances involving FemShep, or at least bring up that for some of us FemSheps, most of our ME3 romances are girls rather than guys.

I chose to go with what my Shep intended and stayed with Thane, even though he died. Some may move on quickly, mine doesn't. A solution for this lack of men would have been to put Vega on the table. I would not have as mine is still in mourning but at least it's one more choice for FemShep's.

Did our Shepards even mourn for the fact that they lost Thane? Everyone else that died in the game seemed to get the 'OH GOD, NO! WHY?! ASDFJKLK!' treatment.
No, because they forgot. Well, at least he mattered to my Shep.

If your female Shepard didn't romance Liara, Kaidan, Samantha, or Garrus, you're out of luck.
That is the truth, unfortunately.

They should at least ATTEMPT to make this up because I'm redoing ME2 to get Garrus with that same Shepard now.

Didn't want anyone from ME1, or I would have stayed with them. Would have gone for Vega, but guess what?? Not an option. So, I'm stuck with some fugly reporter? Na bro, I don't bloody think so.
Favouritism, at it's complete worse.
But I do have a perfectly happy Shep for Garrus, who is the only one for that Shep.

Just had it added to a tumblr today too!
And I started 6 ME2 PTs clean - no ME1 import. ALL were Thane but one for Garrus. I don't think my poor heart can take any more PTs with Thane dying. I just can't.

Maybe Liara but once I saw the options on the Citadel thing where it said 'maybe more than friends', I was like, 'WHOA, WHOA, WHOA, WHOA, WHO THE **** SAID THAT YOU CAN ADD THAT OPTION?!' ...or I would've liked to react like that.
Umm... I really liked it. My Kaidan faithful almost went over to Liara at that point. It's just an option so that a player can start a romance if they want to. She has always been a bit in love with the both of them. I for once would be very sad if I couldn't start a romance with Liara. Don't worry, completely optional.

I know it's optional, I just thought that if I didn't romance anyone at all in the first ME, why would she be trying to get with me in ME3?

Liara's interested in Shepard no matter what in ME, you are the one to shut her down on it. ( or not, as the case may be.) She probably still has a bit of a thing for Shepard in ME3, an is therefore open to Shepard's change of heart.

...I'm still surprised that they put that option there! >>;;
It's for folks who want to initiate a new romance in ME3 or are playing the series for the first time. It's nothing on Liara's part, and I'm fine with that. Besides, she was never as bad about the ninjamancing as Kaidan or Ash
I do think they should've made Vega a new romance option for FemShep especially considering how flirty his dialogue is to begin with. It wouldn't have taken that much more.

Anyways, I personally find Kaidan's romance arc highly satisfying and very romantic.
