You have to either let Irving die or pick the dialogue option "if you let one blood mage go, you'll regret it" when you reuinite Irving with the templars. Then you'll have both the templars in your army and Greagoir who will help out against the archdemon.
Edit: Sealed door? Could be the basement, don't worry about that, it's for the mage origin.

You should be able to talk with Irving or Cullen at the top of the tower after killing Uldred (the guy turning everyone into abominations. After that, he'll lead you back down to Greagoir and you can get the templars. If not it could be bugged, though i'm no expert on this.

you don't seem to get it. you have to kill IRVING as well as Uldred.

You may have forgotten to speak with Irving after killing Uldred, check the top of the tower again. If he's not there, then i'd assume it's a bug.

You can convince the templars to lock the mages and Irving up after saving them, under suspicion of blood magic. That way you can be the 'good guy' and still get the templars.

same place you kill Uldred. you have to choose the right dialog options to make it happen.

As far as i know you only get that option if you talk to the templar before the top floor and you agree to kill all the mages. Maybe im wrong thow?
You coud just let uldred kill all the mages on the top floor i reckon...
