Is "Rogue" the new synonym for "gimped warrior with only 1-2 talent/skill specs worth investing in" in the DOA universe?

Leliana doesn't do as much damage, but her archery come in handy. No, she won't kill powerful enemies singlehandedly (which is really the only thing people want who complain about archers being useless), but she does help a lot. I also let her do traps.
Get the dexterity hotfix to make daggers behave like they are supposed to and make archers more powerful:

I'm playing on the 360 (no patches yet) and my rogues kick butt! I think it is YOU that is doing something wrong.
Take Leliana for instance... I have her archery built maxed out, and I make sure her tactics are set properly. The instant we start combat she can usually one-shot the average enemy. She constantly peppers them with arrows (got to LOVE scattershot) and she even does some crowd control thanks to a talent that lets her knock them prone. She is badass and with her longbow she is far out of any range of the enemies being able to hit her back. So healing is never wasted on her. She does almost 40% of the party damage (if we were all equal we'd each do 25%, so she is above the curve).
Seriously, don't be all ranty and crazy sounding in your posts... makes you seem foolish and ignorant. Instead try to address specific concerns. Post your build (including stats, skills, and talent choices). You'll get more help if you do.

It's not true that tons of cunning is the only option. Yes, cunning is used many of the utility talents and as an assassin, but you can also go pure STR/DEX and only take as much cunning as you need to unlock talents (22). Or go DEX/CUN with 20 STR. Or all three equally. They are viable.
What doesn't work is having a maxed out warrior with maximum utility skills and maximum stealth. It's possible if you buy tomes for extra talents. I did that for Leliana actually. But not until the end of the game. And at that point you get little use out of it.
What's true is that lockpicking doesn't yield much useful loot. Stealing though can be a nice source of income.

be buged and glitched as f***. After learning that all those archery talents are worth jack and that daggers are useless unless used in a heavy cun+build i need to find out that stealing successes actually fill my pockets with air... what the f***?

And the game is easy enough to get trough using a archer or dual daggers wielding char but then again...a warrior would do the trick also (even better).
Add the bug to stealing and the limited use of lockpick and u rly got only the bard/assassin heavy cun+ build which distinguishes the rogue from a plain leather warrior.

First off it is spelled ROGUE! Good lord I get tired of seeing "rouges". ARRRG!
To be fair, when you type fast, it is easy to throw in the "u" before the "g".

Moreover, rogues get far more skill points. You can max out combat training, coercion and either poison or trap making. You could max out both if you buy skill books.

I played all the way through with a Rouge Archer build. It was hard, very hard but yes I got all the way through and thought well that was hard but not impossible.
Then I started a second play through with a Dwarven Warrior and oh my gawd it was like taking off the shackles and seeing the light for the first time. The game is much much easier as a warrior.
So I look at it this way, if you want a real challange play a rouge.

I actually think most Warriors are useless. I had a party of three (level 7) Warriors and one Mage once, and I couldn't believe how fast the Warriors fell against simple groups of shambling corpses and war dogs.

That happens when there is already a stack of that item.
If you're not talking about that, then maybe talking about the bug would help.

Rogue works excellent, both for damage output and skills. I'm having a much harder time keeping my 2h warrior alive to be honest.
Same here, I have way tougher time baby sitting my 2h tank than my assassin-duelist rogue. I love him

My main character rogue (PC, unpatched game, no dexterity fix):
-half of the party damage with dual wielding ("broken") daggers (+ runes and poisons);
-stealth scouting (makes more than 9/10 enemy ambushes fail miserably);
-traps (disarming and setting);
-bombs;
-tons of extra (stealing, breaking in, assassination) quests (and money);
-the only way to pick locks;
-combat stealth (= free criticals);
-great light armors with minus fatigue for endless skill attacks;
-extra ranged mage killing (best longbows hit farther than fireballs - without any points in ranged skills);
-fun and deadly specializations (assassin-duelist or bard-ranger)
Warriors are supremely boring in comparison.
