The first few times I've played, I spoke to the Shaper and got Brother Burkel his chapel.
And always at the end there's a downer saying he was mobbed and murdered and that almost triggered another war.
Anybody get any other ending?  I find myself averting my eyes and ignoring him, hoping he'll live if I don't talk to him.
Any way to finish the quest and save his life?  I hate to turn down quest exp.

He comes off as way too arrogant to me. He doesn't want his chapel to help people, but to impose his religion on the dwarves who are poor bastards that need saving in his eyes. I told him as much and declined.

I had him put a sign up with my name on it at the door, we shall see if that ends better. Who would dare to attack friends of the Grey Warden.

Okay. I'll try going back and visiting. I thought it was a courtesy thing and I looked, but didn't find his congregation.

And there's no way Bhelen is ever, EVER...getting me to fight on his side. Nuh huh. I'd rather elect Howe as the Grand Cleric.

Though I think I did put him on the throne once and I got the same thing.

I'm pretty sure he survives if you place Harrowmont on the throne and leave the anvil in tact. Harrowmont goes into conservative tyrant mode and shuts the chantry down before it can convert any dwarves.

I'm trying to convince the Shaperate to allow Burkel to open the Chantry but so far no go. I've got a Cunning of 28 total 25+3 and still no luck at it.Wondering if I need a higher Cunning say of at least 30 or is it another Stat for which is used for this one?

I usually shot him down just because as a Mage I did not want to get into religious politics, especially with a culture as alien as Dwarves when compared to we Tower folk.

The Brother amassed quite a few points in my book and I try to help him out now after he made a point of helping care for and raise the castless mother and baby from Dust Town because it was the right thing to do in his eyes.

Ends badly for him no matter what I'm pretty sure.

Unfortunate.  Bhelen is like Augustus Cesar.  He is cunning, he knows the politics of Orzammar, and as a result he gets things done that make the city a better place.  Sure, he has to put down some uprisings and assisinate some rivals.  But that's life in politics.  Even if you side with Branka (which is over the line for all but my evil charcter), Bhelen can contain her.  Harrowmount cannot.

You might want to try Bhelen sometime.  He's cut throat, but he's good for Orzammar.

Just remember, if you help two certain dwarves you get an Exalted March from the Chantry.

Really?  Who?  This is a spoiler forum.  I've only seen the THREAT of an exhalted march, but the Chantry never followed through.

I think an exalted march is unlikely. Even the Chantry can't be that stupid, they still need lyrium to keep the Templars in line. They need the Dwarves. They merely considered an exalted march, in their luxurious golden vainly decorated rooms.

Contemplated Exalted March. It's never stated whether one is actually called or not, but I doubt that it was since attacking the dwarves would be the dumbest move ever. If there's a giant crowd of gangbangers trying to get into your club and shoot the place up, you don't tell your doormen and bouncers to get the hell out because you don't like their religious beliefs.

Dwarves fall = darkspawn overtake all unconqered territory in the Deep Roads = darkspawn grow faster and stronger than ever = darkspawn attack the surface in unprecedented numbers outside of Blights because no one's holding the line anymore.

It's never officially announced, but you can hear of them through word of mouth.

Details.  You've yet to reveal which two dwarves.  No one else has confirmed that an actual Exhaulted March takes place - no one has ever seen this ending so far.

Now you talk of, "word of mouth."  Who's mouths?  What words?

This is twice now.  On one thread your theory is implausable.  On this thread you say something happens that never happens.

I think you really don't know what you are talking about.

An exalted march against Orzammar would be fun. The templar´s talents are useless against dwarves, and the whole enterprise would end with there being a lot less templars and chantry zealots, thus an improvemeent for everyone.

If you help Dagna, the dwarf who wants to study at the Circle of Magi, Orzammar will start they're own Circle, which angers the Chantry. However, the Divine in Orlais are only considering an Exalted March.

EDIT:  I was wrong - there is an ending where the Circle of Magi is moved to Orzammar.  Thank you Annie.

I dont like Burkle so I argue with him. He is to arrogant and thinks he is above everyone else because of his religion. He reminds me way to much of rl people who follow religions.

If you help dagna Orzammar does not start it's own Circle. She publishes some research that gains a lot of noteriety. Dwarves can't do magic.

I haven´t tried myself yet, but I heard that if you side with the templars and kill the mages (during broken circle) THEN a new circle can be founded in Orzammar by the collective, though there are some more conditions (I think, Bhelen as king).
