I've been really curious if this power has changed since ME2, but honestly, a fully upgraded shield drain is so beastly I can't see using any other bonus power for my vanguard.

I've been thinking that grenades are probably the best vanguard bonus power. They don't interfere with your cooldowns. Everything else is either an ammo power (and you already have two good ones) or it keeps you from spamming charge, thereby forcing you into cover.

Are they necessary? No, but they're kind of fun.

As for Reave, I haven't tried it yet because all my Shepards saved Ash instead of Kaidan.
