If there was to be a canon LI then it would have to be Liara. Unkillable in 1 and 2 plus Shepard's alive again thanks to her. Whether or not you romanced her, I think Liara is/was always in love with Shepard.

If you dont romance Liara in ME1, it is implied she's interested in Feron in LotSB

Sorry if this has already been mentioned, but at least in my playthrough, Liara did the whole mindmeld/nervous system link thingy with my Shep, so even if she's not the canon LI, she at least seems likely to have daughter with her/him. Traynor was my LI, and I didn't even get a chance to romance Liara in the third game (I blame my silly save for that, and no LotSB DLC).

I'd say that they use human romances for the trailers so someone who doesn't know whats going on won't be like, "what the hell did I just watch?"

Yes, Liara is canon.

Won't stop me from building Tali a home on Rannoch, though...

Liara is Canon imo, but the magic that makes the ME universe is choice.

With that said, that was the not the question, so yes I think Liara is the Canon romance. If canon even exist.

In the games she may be the "canon" or preferred LI but I feel like if they made a movie and they did a romance it would either be Ashley or Miranda as most casual moviegoers would be wierded out by a human-alien romance. Even a human looking alien like Liara

If only Liara had Miranda's ass everything would be perfect.

I think not, Liara's ass is perfect as is without the lipo, lol

No offense, I think Miranda is really cool and sexy, but damn if Liara's ass isn't sexy already. I'd even say its very comparable, have you seen the love scene from ME3? She has luggage back there man!!!

Liara gave Shepard the "cold shoulder" in ME2 until LotSB.

Tali and Garrus supported Shepard since ME1. Shepard says this if you romance either of them:

"You guys have been there with me more than any other"

Yes well she also made sure your body didn't end up with the Collector's when Shepard died so I think I can forgive her.

I wouldn't say canon so much as Bioware's favorite... or perhaps she just has the best writer idk.

However, say they turned the games into a movie trilogy, I think Ashley would be the LI for mShep in ME1. In ME2 Shep would have a romantic/sexual stint with Miranda, but would reunite with Ashley in ME3.

If you've played the Uncharted series imagine Ashley as Elena, Miranda as Chloe, with MShep being Drake. I'd imagine it would be being something like that.

Never played a FemShep so no real opinion there, but I'd guess Kaidan. As for my Shep, Miranda all day.

No, I'm saying that the ending was real. My Shepard will survive the fall from the citadel to earth and will fill find a ship, commandeer it, and, using conventional FTL systems search every star system in the galaxy for the Normandy crash site, where, when he finds it, he will b!#ch slap Joker for leaving him, and then take Tali home to Rannoch.

A guy can dream, can't he?

In all seriousness, yes, I believe in the indoctrination ending. Only explaination for the over-all dream-like state after Harbinger's beam. Also, Tali does not have teleportation powers. I checked. Twice. It is not physically possible (even with space magic) for her to be on the Normandy in final cutscene.

Since LotSB, I too feel a shift towards Liara being the canon LI. Regardless of whether you romance her or not; cos you have to be nice to her. She hinted her feelings for Shepard more than once in ME3 and her final "Gift" further reinforce that. She loves Shepard regardless of Shepard's LI choice.

She is there for Shepard the entire ME3, comforting and supporting Shepard all the time. Being the only Biotic in the team, she will be following most ppl most of the time throughout ME3.

^ Agreed. In ME2 we had Miranda, Jacob, Samara and Jack as Biotic, ME3 only Liara, which kind of compels you to bring her along if you like to create strategies using Biotics.

Besides that, something that bugged me are the love scenes with Liara. As much I like my old Turian pal *hides*, I have to say, there isn't any other love scene that compares with hers.

Does Shepard even say "I love you" to the others LI?

Assuming you have them and assuming they live. Vega's a soldier because you can't guarentee Ashley or Garrus will be alive, and EDI's a squaddie because you can't guarentee that Garrus, Tali or Kaidan are alive. Liara alone fills the 'biotic' portion.

Maybe that could be the reason bioware removed virmire 2.0? As in the worst case senario, you only have liara edi and vegas as squad mates, allowing liara to die may leave players with no biotic ability at all
