This went from actual discussion on possible ways to bring the toolkit to the PS3 to a PC is better than PS3 argument in only two pages. Great job at derailing the thread.

EDIT: The grammar Naz* is at it again.

lol wow....you didn't read much of the posts did you? no one is saying ps3 is better then pc or vice versa...people are just complaining because they arent getting a freaking toolkit that shoulda been OBVIOUS would be for PC only

and idiots making empty threats to bioware to the point where they can't speak without someone else threatening to sue them.

also there isn't much to say about getting the toolkit to ps3 that hasn't ALREADY been said...so there wasn't much point in discussing it further since bioware themselves will be the ones doing this and not us

this comes from the guy who was contradicting himself several pages back about being alienated for having to purchase the PC version of the game to get the toolkit...but was perfectly fine to tell people that it's their problem if they don't have a mouse and keyboard for the game if it REQUIRED one...

safe for me to do this again

We have covered this. If Bioware distributed enough files with the toolset to be able to run it without the PC version it would a) Require ALL of the game files, B) require the full PC version to test things and c) They don't want to give you 2 games for the price of one.

but if bioware just wants a PC only community and some suckers form PS3 and 360 to buy there game to add to total sales i would like to knwo that now so i never buy an other Bioware game again.

As Nwalya42 already stated: Given the amount of memory, resources and editing freedom required for using the toolset, there is no way the toolset would work on ps3 (or xbox). And given the amount of game resources the toolset needs to be useable (which basically comes down to the entire pc game) the only alternative would be for Bioware to give away free copies of the PC game to everyone who buys the console game. That's just not going to happen.

Just try to win a cheap copy of the pc game on Ebay or such, then you can use the toolset on your pc.

The beta was likely a closed beta where the reward for participating was a free copy of the PC version of the game - hence no issue. The reason you paid $10 more is what I call the curse of the console. Because you are using "improved" hardware and specialised software they guarantee that a game will run - the $10 less for the PC version is (in my opinion) to make up for the fact that there are some issues that cannot be tested.

we repeat the same thing over and over because you're too stupid and stubborn to admit you are a complete idiot for thinking a TOOLSET that has NEVER EXISTED FOR PS3 would be given out for PS3, if it was the case and they made one for PS3 it wouldn't have been casually displayed like they did it would have been BIG NEWS since it's the first ever toolset for PS3....but there isn't so just shut the **** up and stop ****ing and just buy the ****ing game like anybody with a sense of respect

**** i don't care if you're a troll i find it retarded that all you can do is whine about it without showing some HELPFUL input...everybody else is explaining to you WHY it's not for ps3 and what would be needed for it but all i see you guys doing is "lalalala stop repeating the same thing hurrrrr durrrr"

bioware obviously cares about consoles since they released a PC EXCLUSIVE out for the consoles....you should be just satisfied that they even graced consoles with this game and take that silver spoon out of your mouth because no amount of ****ing and whining will change things

bioware loves us and thats why they are giving us CONSOLE PLAYERS 2 ****ING YEARS WORTH OF DLC which is a lot of work but for someone so ****y and whiney like yourself and the others (you know who you are) you just aren't satisfied with that....you want more and if you can't have it you have to threaten poor bioware who only want to supply us with awesome content and entertain us

so here's the TL;DR version

bioware gave us CONSOLE players a PC exclusive game, they didnt need to give us 2 YRS worth of DLC but they are doing so, you want a PS3 TOOLSET then stop being a GODDAMN idiot and do it yourself, and bioware cares about us so stop giving them empty threats to think about

Is it helpful to wish someone's system to break?

But I digress, keep making yourself look like a trolling idiot when you ask for an XBOX360 error to happen on our PS3s.

Paging kills performance. With only 256 meg of usable RAM (remember that half of it is set aside as graphics memory and so is pretty much off-limits for most of the toolset), you'd likely not be able to fit both the resource you're using, and the local memory required for the particular tool you're using on it, in memory at the same time.
In other words, your hard disk would be churning away constantly, and you'd be talking about blocking for seconds for an operation as simple as panning the view around an area. When you start to actually manipulate stuff, it gets even worse.
If you want to see what it would be like, find a friend with the PC version of DA, and install the toolset on something with 512 meg of RAM. Or even 768 meg, if you want to compensate for what the OS takes up.

well they could strip down graphics (ie wire-frame models when panning/ moving the camera). and if you got a solid state drive for the ps3 you might be able to pull off paging. remember, the ps3 does support usb mouse and keyboards.

however allowing people to download  and mod to the PC and then bake content for consoles would probably work the best.

and for comparisions to EPIC, well they made the UT3 engine to work on everything and it does pretty well. as far as getting content on to the ps3, well it already happened once so it can happen again. its really up to sony, but the ps3 has been selling more recently and well, pride before folly (however if bioware goes there and shows that some pc users are making nice custom content they may budge).

quoted for EPIC ****ING TRUTH :o

also UT3MOD.COM is a perfect example of this...especially since THIS VERY SITE not only has PS3 cooked mods....but you can DIRECT DOWNLOAD VIA PS3 BROSWER :)

idk why you belive sony is the stalling player made content.... nto that i dont belive i would just like to know what this is based on.

as bioware team meber Chris preistly said in this forum

Chris Priestly wrote...
While we are ivestigating ways that created content may come to the console
versions, the toolset is exclusive for the PC version.

this leads me to belive bioware is "going there" they may do it a simular way as UT3 but my money on its going to be thew the PS store or Xbox live market palce becuse it seem they they will have to Port eatch mod they pick for ps3 and xbox to get, meaning it be more like User made free(if not ill be mad) DLC

meaning any user made content we will be old, make the PS3 and Xbox player out side of the coummity, instead of it becoming shared content to the ps3 and xbox, it will more of be a throphy for the person who made it.
im NOT saying that a person who make a supper awsome map or small story with the toolset shouldn't be able to get a thumbs up for Bioware in such a way... it just seem that this is the best they can do for us, so they never should of implyed that we would be part of the Dragon age community and should of been more carefull with there add campaige.

to me what bioware has made is

for pc plays- aa community for user made content and enjoyment.
for ps3 and xbobx360 users - a small cash cow  that will hopefull keep buying DLC

i hope im wrong and the besideds Allan Smith the bioware team i talk to seem like they want ps3 and xbox player to be loal mebers of the community.

Funny, i thought the lack of a basic understanding of the english language is one qualifier of a retard. I said "you ask for an XBOX360 error" not, "you ask for xbox360 errors". The first being singular noun, would be refering to only a single error, the RROD, which stands for the Red Ring of Death which is only a 360 error.
This behavior seems to be the norm for you, ignoring one's points that are an inconvienence to you in one way or another.
I'm not addressing your points because we already have. It isnt our fault those counterpoints are being ignored by you.

I think that he meant was that the people with 360s should suffer a RROD and the people with PS3s should suffer a Yellow light - fairly obvious. As for being constructive, I am fairly sure we have covered every point that is relevant, but you seem to ignore them.

No, asking for a XBOX360 error to happen to people in a PS3 forum means that he was wanting a XBOX360 error to happen on a PS3 which would be more impossible than Bioware developing a toolkit to work on a PS3, which was the only system addressed in the original post.

BTW I'd rather get answers from someone who works at Bioware than someone who trolls PS3 forums.

lol and you are questioning my intelligence? hahahahahahahhahah oh wow

so because we are in a ps3 forum you instantly assume me stating people to get an RROD was for ps3? lol you are such a retard and nothing you can say or do at this point will change anyones minds...and i find it even more hilarious that you want answers from the very company you threatened with a lawsuit....can we say stupid much?

lol i do talk to real people...do you know how i can tell? because they know english well :)
and they don't leave stupid comments talking about how they won't read something and after i'm done here posting i can assure you WILL reply to :)

also my input is VERY helpful since i have stated that:

1.TOOLSET IS FOR PC AND NOT PS3 dummie :)
2.you whine for a toolset that was obvious would be for pc...and because you don't want to pay for a game in another system which was your fault for purchasing in your primary system without researching
3.being a grammar N*zi is always helpful to help you speak proper english

but I'm good....don't worry as long as you ATTEMPT to redeem yourself on these forums and try to one up me...i'll always be back to spike that ball back down to the ground....so to speak ;)

I think we should stop my friend...it's obvious that these two will never understand, or are too stubborn to. might as well be yelling at a brick wall while having people stare at you funny since this is kind of what's happening

I'm just going to let these 2 mules cry and whine as much as they want together on the forum until a mod finally locks it down...all it REALLY is right now is just some banter and useless posting crying about a toolkit that was for PC and should be obvious....but no let's just leave them to whine and whine i'm sure a big corporation like bioware will soon reply to these 2 right? oh wait i'm sorry they had to resort to empty threats to get their replies....oh well

but yeah man i know you mean well...but these 2 are a lost cause....just let the boat sink already lol

Last time I checked, UT3 mods were built in UnrealEd on PC and cooked for the PS3 with tools that Epic provided; it's even possible for those mods to have sounds now, instead of being silent. It might be possible for Bioware to produce something similar to this for the DA toolset; in fact, they may well already have such a tool in house that they would be able to integrate into the PC toolset at some time. I do hope that they do this, by the way, as I would like to be able to share any content I make for this game with all platforms.
