Last time I checked, UT3 mods were built in UnrealEd on PC and cooked for the PS3 with tools that Epic provided; it's even possible for those mods to have sounds now, instead of being silent. It might be possible for Bioware to produce something similar to this for the DA toolset; in fact, they may well already have such a tool in house that they would be able to integrate into the PC toolset at some time. I do hope that they do this, by the way, as I would like to be able to share any content I make for this game with all platforms.

lol glad there are SOME UT3 players in here hehe sure hope they do have a tool like this to cook mods....or have the DLC department design one...i wouldnt mind them cutting the 2yr DLC into 1.5yrs if they needed to so this would be a reality because it certainley would make this game EVEN MORE enjoyable for us console players....plus it would save me money since i was thinking of building a PC just so i could get this game on PC and enjoy the mods :)

Is there no way, say in future dragon age games, (if there will be any) of including an editor of some kind in the console versions, like they do in games like far cry 2 and the map editor included in that?

Loving the game btw.

Revitilising an old thread? It would be possible, but what we are saying is that it would have to be made from the ground up - the current Dragon Age was originally created for PC and then modified to run on consoles. In order to allow an editor, it would have to be very dumbed down to work on the hardware. So it is possible, but they would have to make sure it would work on both consoles and that it didn't affect the other aspects of the game. They may even need to develop console and PC versions seperately, which may not be a feasable expense for them.

Yeah, i figured there's no point making a new thread to ask when there's already one here, it's a petty annoyance of mine is all, 3 or 4 thread on the same topic, there's no point... Image IPB

And what you say makes sense, i'm not overly bothered about having an editor to be honest, i just thought i'd put the query out there. I'm happy with the dlc that bioware have brought out so far and look forward  to
the return to ostegar and everything else they have planned for this game.

I enjoyed the game so far with the DLC and everything. But seeing our PC counterpart get to enjoy the mods and we don't just made me kinda green-eyed especially after having to part with more money for DA as compared with our PC counterparts

The extra money you paid was for the extra development time it took to convert the game to work on consoles. The PS3 version costs more due to the cost of the blue ray disc - PS3 games will be more expensive until blueray becomes more common place.

You chose to play the game on a closed, convenient system. Also, the reason you paid more money is because Sony and Microsoft charge a licensing fee to sell a game on their platform.

Having mods running on the consoles isn't something Sony or Microsoft wants. For one, it opens up several possibilities for breaking games and hardware. Secondly, it reduces the demand for paid DLC. Both Sony and Microsoft take a cut of the DLC revenue for hosting it on their respective services, having free content available circumvents their monopoly on new content for fans.

Also, you need the PC game files to use the toolset. Bioware isn't going to distribute that stuff in the toolset download because it enables piracy to an extent. (and the download would be huge)

I don't understand the outrage, make more informed purchases in the future rather than pointing fingers and whining.
