I haven't finished my Nobleman playthrough yet, but I was really hoping to see Iona's daughter in the Alienage and help her. To not be able to tell her what happened is going to be heartbreaking. I love the adoption idea, making sure that she's cared for in Eamon's household (or the Cousland household) but even just being able to give her a few hundred gold.

Just having her stand there, waiting for her mother, has my eyes watering up. :'(

No, one could have the child stay in the protection of the late Lady Landra's house, I am sure her husband still lives and as they worked directly for that family for generations, I see little reason for them to expulse the child just because her mother was slain. If the PC wanted to take charge of the child, no it would have to obviously be  through a good rep with the Elves, perhaps after one gained the respect of the Dalish but again that 'middle info' I spoke that could be imputted as well.

The possibilities are endless. Send her to Eamon. Send her to the Dalish. Send her to Alistar and/or Anora. Send her to your own household. Give her money.
You're a goddamn noble and a Grey Warden. You have contacts directly in the game, people indebted to you, aswell as knowledge of politics and family contacts.
More likely than not, you could probably walk up to a noble of your choice that you haven't already pissed off and talk them into taking on another chambermaid or assistant.

Yes, Iona dies no matter what..... it is the early fight in the Cousland Castle for the human noble origin.

As for the child, that is much later in the game..... and Seneva is right. A couple of lines, just like for the little boy in Lothering, and maybe some silvers or even a gold coin or two, and Shanti or Valendrian could take care of the child in the Alienage.

Of course that would be AFTER the problem is solved in the Alienage.
