What Mr.Hudson Actually Meant (Ending related)

Casey Hudson recently commented in an interview with DigitalTrends about Mass Effect 3's endings and said he wanted to make them "unforgetable" in other words stating that the current polarization of the ME fanbase (some of it anyway) was intended.

Link:http://www.digitaltr...-controversies/

Recent rumors and tweets show that Bioware has stuff planed for ME3 post-launch, be that through DLC or comics/books/whatever.
.
Tweet by Michael Gamble:"Hardest. Day. Ever. Seriously, if you people knew all the stuff we are planning...you'd, we'll - hold onto your copy of me3 forever"

Then there is the rumor that a DLC with the true endings is coming in April or May with some other stuff. It is supposedly titled "The Truth". Keep in mind however, that none of this is confirmed, so don't tout this around as evidence please.

It's also apparently free.

And the user on 4chan who did it is actually the same one that "predicted" the "Lair of The Shadow Broker" DLC.

Also, they apparently did this because of the leaks. They wanted to still be able to surprise players, but again keep in mind all unconfirmed.

Now, my actual reason for posting this comes from a thought I had.

What if what Mr. Hudson and his merry band of Bio-trolls (just kidding) actually meant when they (or more specifically Casey) said they wanted the endings to be unforgetable was actually reffering to this?

What if the fan outcry, the petitions and the massive dissapointement felt by quite a lot of people was actually what they wanted to acheive only so they could attract attention to it, so they could later on "correct it" with DLC?

It just made sense in my head, you know? After all, "bad" publicity is still publicity. Right?

Thoughts?

EDIT:I appologize for not replying to your comments, but my CE (long story) has yet to be in my posession, so I won't be able to comment just yet.

All those poor souls without internet connection would have bought a game without an actual ending. Depressing, really.

No proof shown though. Followed the link to the wiki (blog), that had a link to a source of which was in a thread on here then the link on here led to empty 404 site. Without the content available thats missing from the last chain in link I have no trust in this whatsoever.

I admit that this thought crossed my mind. Stirring up a controversy to gain attention before you reveal your real plan is hardly a new idea.

However, I'm not willing to bet on it. And as much sense as the indoctrination theory make, I'm not going to put any stock in it until we see something official, or at least more reliable than 4chan.

It doesn't consider people who don't play online.

And it's manipulative and cruel.

It's a fine plan.  Most of us would then buy the ending, maybe the ME3 other content.

And then never touch bioware again with a 20 foot pole.

If true, I would bow to Bioware and worship them as the greatest trolls to ever live.

Or... what if by "Unforgettable" they meant having an ending that was a major letdown on purpose... you know... to spur conversation among fans?Image IPB

This is one scenario where it's best to remain pessimistic and continue bashing Bioware's decision.

I thought that, I'm guessing it would be in CD form that they would problaby have to pay, this is getting me excited, really strong signs pointing towards this, IF its true then it would go down as the greatest gaming achievement ever, actually indoctricating us!

this kind of thing hurts business, there is no way they deliberately provide a bad ending, even bioware wants to do it, EA wont let them do it

PC users require an internet connection just to install it.
It's come to the point that people not connected to the internet just aren't considered.

There are just so many ways that could backfire. It's a reckless business decision. Some of us would probably eat right out of their hand, but others would probably be even more angry than they are now. It would be fan manipulation on a grand scale.

This whole "Truth DLC" relies on single screenshot from 4chan. Which is the most reliable source of information </sarcasm>

Cute idea, too bad I'm too much of a pessimist to buy it.

The fact of the matter is, this fiasco is harming their sales. I've friends who ended up not picking up the game after hearing about the ending and other friends who've turned their copies in. I've heard of other people doing the same, and I'm sure you have, too.

Amazon is toting the game for much less than what it was released at. Currently Amazon has it cut down to 44 dollars (at the time of this posting).

Add to that the user ratings on Metacritic and Amazon as well as all the gaming journalist reviews, either good or bad, and Bioware has successfully warded off a fair portion of sales.

Also this is in light of all their hype-building marketing plans. Sending a copy of ME3 into space? Yeah, seeing the bad ending as a marketing ploy is a hard buy.
