OK if BioWare thinks 40,000 who hate the ending is a self-selecting sample... May I suggest maybe a in-game poll, maybe through origin you can tell who finished the game and send a pop-out window question asking if the player like the the ending or not... Origin certainly knew I finished a game and sent a message to my iPad.

but self-selecting sample doesn't mean it's random, I took the poll, i'm a casual player, I only did one playthrough for all ME games, I didn't even buy the day one DLC thinking i'll just get the storyline elsewhere online, yet i hate the ending because it's so inconsistent with the rest of the trilogy and ruined it in my opinion.

We are on topic.

We're talking about whether or not Bioware is listening to us, and you're telling us that our statistics don't matter.

That seems to be exactly what the topic is about.

I have no doubt they have been listening to what the fans have been saying. My two cents worth is that the game seems to be 99% perfect but is let down by the ending, which has too many plot holes and too much ambiguity to provide the closure required to end Shepard's story, somewhat contradicting what had been promoted pre-release.

For the record, I'm one of those people who would like the option of a happy-ish ending but as one of several distinct and diverse endings. Video games provide me with an escape from the problems of real life , ME in particular. For things to end the way they did, it just feels like a punch to the gut.

An in game poll would be a great idea.

And now almost 47.000 people have voted on the poll, which by now could be called the semi-official poll on the forum.

I'm still curious, Mr. Woo. How many people need to vote, before the sample size is accurate in your mind? Still holding off, until ALL who bought it give a vote?

I am impressed by the number of people who have responded to the poll, but it's still self-selecting and posted on a site where the developers are known to listen and respond to feedback. It's not going to be "accurate," but that doesn't mean it's not note-worthy.

47,000 people. 47,000 people.

By my guesstamation I would say at the very earliest this weekend, to gauge the reaction to the game in Asia. But it will most likely be much later.

Any chance any of the devs or moderators are going to approach any of the larger threads in the spoilers part of the forums. I mean those are the registered game users right? Seems a logical leap that if this topic is accurate and they are listening to us they might hop on over and give a response there? Fans feel a bit desperate, waving wildly in the breeze looking for some kind of reassurance that they are heard and that they are going to be addressed.

First let me get this straight.

The charity account on Chipin states very clearly that we are "respectfully" requesting for Bioware to hear our concerns, what is going on in this forum shows none of the respect Bioware should have earned starting with Shattered Steel.

Yes im an old Vet of Bioware, i have played every single game Bioware has ever developed and released. Id even go so far to say that Bioware is responsible for me starting to play games.
Enough of the pitchforks already, give them a chance to respond, their replies here in this thread alone should give everyone a moment of pause because there are multiple developers out there that would not even take the time to respond. At this point everyone knows the endings leave much to be desired, and i support this statement.

But for some people to get down right rude with the devs kinda ashames me. That was never the point of the Retake Mass effect movement. Stanley i appreciate the time you took to give us a look from your perspective, you have not offered the closure we asked for but we can not expect it either 1 week after the release of this game.
To all gamers raging and flaming do you honestly expect Bioware to start up their magical Code manipulator and change anything or offer anything within 1 week? And for all those arguing that you want them to respond at least , consider this.
There are millions who own the game, half of them take the time to post their concerns or defend the game at this point. Lets say there are 3 million copies sold. Thats 1.5 million posts you want Bioware to respond to? Do some of you guys even think before you type?
I want closure as well after putting 150 + hours into the game but looking at Legends and DA2 should be testament enough to show people that Bioware listens and give the fan base what they want at least to some extend.

Then i hear comments about how EA is corrupting Bioware, are you guys for real? Every company out there wants to make money, not just EA. Some games target specific audiences others try to please as many as possible.. Bioware deserves respect to try and make as many players happy as possible, aside from the ending this universe was a blast and a lot of fun to enjoy. All im asking is for you guys to reflect and let your brain kick in before your fingers start moving.Bioware deserves that. Keep it constructive and stop pointing fingers. Yu get alot further with rose pedals then with pitchforks.

TLDR : Stop your qqing and respond constructive.

This wouldn't be possible unless they did a DLC or patch that did that.

Honestly, I think it would be a great idea if all games had that when the credits end through either them being skipped or they end on their own.

so bioware is at least looking from time to time it is good that they finally say something. However pointless questioning them is. but they are showing some signs of acknowledgement of their failure.

I live in Asia... I finished the game last week, I got the game through Taiwan's Origin service (meaning I did not get some friend in America to get the game for me)

If you want people to buy it you are...

We develop the game based on market research, general feedback, and our own ideas and goals.

The gamer with the screen name Jayce F ultimately has no control over what the end product will be. Jayce F can certainly make suggestions and critique the games and offer other feedback, but our games are not made "to please Jayce F."
And you likely bought Mass Effect 1 and enjoyed it. How could we have made that game "to please Jayce F" if it'sthe first game in the series, and the first game of a new franchise? Presumably, we kind of know what we're doing and made the game to please a section of the gaming market.

That's what I mean. :)

and yet the endings would STRONGLY suggest otherwise...I mean given there is a poll here which has 99% of over 40,000 voters saying they did not like the endings...

i like the ending choices mainly because its something new and yes it gives you a choice with all 3

lets be honest here the reason why people are so up in arms is because they didnt get a full on explination of the noramdy crew

if they included that explination how much you want to bet that there would be another bogus excuse to protest against something else?

Your right those 3 choices of colored explosions were such a hard call.
Oh yeah wanting an explainaint for what happens is too much ask apperantly.
If the ending didn't suck this wouldn't be happening stop trying to guess how people would respond.
You might fine with them lying to you but I sure as hell are not.

What I get from this topic so far, is that we probably won't ever see our ending concerns addressed. What they were hinting at with the recent tweets is probably a single player DLC unrelated to the ending.

There's no way they'll admit they didn't deliver with the ending and there's not much else they can say about it either.

The thing I simply don't like, is how some questions are easily dodged by the game producers or paraphrased and changed to their own advantage. This is a part of general marketing I never liked. Not saying they should do this or should do that, but it frustrates me personally to no end. Clearly, BSN has a hardcore fanbase for every games made by the separate teams of this company... It would be fun sometimes to feel the trust and love from the developers instead of being treated like strangers. Oh, but don't mind me... I'm just being paranoid, like usual.

Their hands are likely tied due to rules that keep them from giving a straight, real answer. So I doubt we will get one until they're authorized to say anything about the subject.
