They sold us an incomplete game. They owe us an explaination. They owed it to us before release.

Just because you don't like how it was completed does not mean that this particular chapter in Shepards story is not completed.

Well, imo it's either a crappy ending, or an incomplete one, depending on your view of certain things. I'm not someone who liked the ending. If you do, cool. I don't feel a sense of 'completeness' at the end of the game, though. :?

I didn't say that either. I don't think Shepards story is over. I saw the cut-scene after the credits. I think this chapter is.

Anyone else think it was kinda mean of Shepard to you know...not tell anyone how to take out a Reaper? I mean, he/she took out Sovereign and with the impending battle never thought to pass that info along. So here planets and their inhabitants are being overrun and they're busy spooning their LI in their quarters.

QFT... I was literally wondering this since ME1. And then he takes another Reaper out and still doesn't pass any info along...

+1 for horrid writing that defies all logic

PROTIP: The Reapers adapt. I don't think you could take down their shields again. You can modulate your phazers all you want, but eventually they get the trick and you run of frequencies to use, and then you get assimilated.

Wait.

I think I got confused somewhere.

yes, there is always the "i have a bigger gun" aka brute force approach as well.:police:

Give the Krogans a generation or two, they'd have taken out the Reaper threat by building a massive armada of space-rams to shove into any Reaper encountered. They're the Space Orks of the Mass Effect universe.

I think you're mixing up with Andromeda. Or was it Battlestar Galactica? I forget.

Well, Drew left for some reason I don't know. Point is, whatever he was planning probably got changed.

They also forgot about dark energy. You know, that underlying threat that Tali was investigating in ME2. I wonder what her dead team thinks about the research never being brought up again.

Probably miffed.

Didn't Karpyshyn say they thought about using it but it was dropped and then they returned to the storyline as originally planned (which would have probably been kinda like what we ended up having anyway).

Dark energy was involved, yes. Whether it was dropped for one reason or another I do not know. In anycase it still exists and the galaxy is still under threat so. Enjoy your endings.

Considering even after Saren still no one would believe that the Reapers where coming, why would they have paid any attention even if she did?

In any case didn't the fleet take out Sovereign while Shep was dealing with Saren? Im sure that any information they had in that reguards was passed on via reports to the appropriate people and then filed away and forgotten about like everything else.

The rate at which critical information is forgotten in this series is alarming to say the least.

I haven't played #1 in about 5 years or more, a lots happened since then IRL so computer game info goes out the window! I am currently replaying my entire Shepard story though as a refresher :)

If the Reapers are the reason for the Dark Energy threat, I'm thinking you shouldn't worry about that.

I think Bioware may have been relying a little too much on people's ability to not only suspend their disbelief, but also to use their imagination when it comes to the ending(s). There is just so much that isn't explained, but is mildly plausible if you use your imagination.

That said, even the explanations that I came up with in regards to the endings aren't anywhere near as satisfying as if Bioware had taken the time to give Shepherd and his/her LI/Squad a real sense of closure beyond a small cutscene.

I can't support Nightwish. Not after what they've done to Tarja.

No.

It's Carcass or nothing. XD

They weren't. Refering to Sovereign's video, Kaidan picks up in it. The Reapers were involved, yes, but not the cause. They were seeking a solution.

I stand corrected then.

Welp, there you go. Another ME trilogy with something way more esoteric this time.

yeah, what they did to her stunk. But, Holopainen is so masterful I cannot resist. I<3Nightwish. However, my disappointment with the ending is represented by the song "One by One" by Sirenia.:crying:

Who wins? Shepard or Obi-wan?

<Enter Obi-Wan and Shepard>
Obi-Wan : <waves hand> "You should go home and re-think your life."
Shepard: "I should go home and re-think my life."
<Shepard exits>

this is how i feel about the current ending as well.<_<

I do wonder why they didn't stick with it. Tali's stuff builds up to it but there is no payoff. It also would have made loads more sense than what we were given in the end. They seemed to be sticking with the line of thought up into Arrival with Object Rho and the Alpha relay. So whatever changes were made came after Arrival.

pffttt. Annete is a good singer (she arguably does better live - always took Tarja half a concert to warm up before she started sounding good, and its not like she was blameless in that split either), plus my feelings towards bioware after interview with Casey Hudson and prior to this thread could be perfectly summarized by this song

I feel like I was in the Matrix, and somehow woke up after getting lasered by Harbinger, and nothing made sense anymore. the entire previous game series and build-up of trivia and foreshadowing pointed somewhere else entirely.

Hence why the ending surprised me. The lead up was directing us somewhere else entirely.

I'm thinking we'd have needed the intervention of a "Red Shirt Guy" to put the plot back into the right path.
