Seriously, though, if you think there is some magic formula that allows prodcut creators to see the future and gauge consumer response, then I'd like to get my hands on it because that's a billion dollar bit of wizardry right there! :)

No one can predict the future.

I can. It's called "common sense"

LOL. I'll say it again, I don't loathe the endings. They are just insanely anticlimactic and don't fit at all given the level of dramatic tension to this point.

But there's no way............no way they didn't see, feel, and know the profound THUD those endings would land with.

Yeah.  That's the thing that gets me.  Before, during, and after development, as the ending came to fruition.  All those names you see scrolling up during the credits and not one person, not one said along the way, "you sure about this?"

We always listen and consider what our community has to say. We have been listening the entire time. That does NOT mean, however, that we are obligated to respond, to agree with you, or to develop the game to please you.

We have a lot of people giving us feedback, and due to the diverse nature of our fanbase and community, there are a lot of different opinions and suggestions floating around, and some of it will be contradictory. I encourage all those giving us feedback to consider that the game has only been out a short time and that it does take time to consider all the feedback coming at us. Thank you all for your enthusiasm and support (and criticism). ;)

Thank you for replying, I don't usually post, I loved Mass Effect 3, I play an insane number of games and ME3 is pretty much the best game I've played in a long time, if not forever. However the ending...

I don't have a twitter account:

Simply put the ending, took the excitement of the entire game, which was hightened by the final charge, then the Illusive Man stand off and killed it . My problem is in spite of what was said there is only ONE ending
(I'm talking where you make your choice and afterwards, I'm cool with the lllusive Man/Anderson scene)
and your choices have no apparent effect. War Assets have no effect. I don't know how else to say it, it would be nice if your choices actually did something near the end to change the ending up, have a Rachni in the fleet or something, or encounter the Reaper Rachni on earth if you went the other way! A text epilogue even! You know what would be cool, if the kid was Harbinger indoctrinating Shepard to try get him to kill himself, I know I thought that and tried to shoot the kid. I just remembered, I wanted to kill Harbinger!
I was planning to replay the whole series as Renegade to get different results, but I've lost the will to do that because of that ending. People say ME2 had the "same" ending, but that isn't true, people in ME2 live and die based off what you have done, even if you went in fully prepared you could still get someone killed and even if you got Shepard killed in ME2, you still got a worthwhile ending.

I think BW should take look at Martyr's poll and take the feed back from there.
As it shows what we think about the endings.

The ending was obviously constructed to make people want something more... as in DLC. I can't wait until they release it, as all we will see is, "BioWare actually cares! I love you guys, off to buy it right now!"

What's the harm of developing an expansion to clear up what happens to shepard, his crew, and to the ME universe as a whole.

That makes everyone happy, and you make more money.

I don't at all agree with Casey Hudson's idea of Shepard story being unforgettable if it's shrouded in mystery. To me, it's the complete opposite. Any discussion on it will be ignored and avoided because it's mere conjecture. Anyone can guess what happens next to shepard or what really happened, so it makes the ending completely pointless. It also makes it completely pointless to really have a discussion on it.

The only reason people are discussing that now is because they are either interpreting or guessing that Bioware plans to make a expansion, to make a dlc, or to respond to the confused direction that people received while the game was in development with choices being an option in the ending.

As a side not, why the Dues Ex ending, Stanley? I am not saying it's necessarily bad for anyone to copy or mimic and ending of another story. Movies, authors, and video games copy from each other all the time, but I wouldn't expect such a well funded and successful trilogy as Mass Effect to copy another video games ending. I'm just wondering why, and my only guess is the indoctrination theory.

I'll tell you the harm. I would wager near half of the people in anger want it to be free so it is an added expense. If it is paid they are still going to be angry or even more irate. So either it costs them monetarily or goodwill and future sales. The amount of people buying it are not going to recoup their loses in either.

So which of the demands are they going to meet with said DLC. Close plot holes cooked up by people that have an erroneous theory based on what they see? Give the happy happy end that some want which doesn't address the other crowd? Come up with a new ending that closes all the plot holes (real or imagined) of the last but in doing so creates more plot holes and may even be considered worse? If you think they screwed up the endings in the first place can they not make mistakes again costing them more time/money and goodwill? They could also make people who were OK with the situation angered by the changes or lose the sale of other potential customers. What I have to pay $10 more for DLC ending with the "real" ending forget it I'll just buy this game.

Even if it is a legitimate plot hole does that mean it has to be addressed? Did the makers of Lost or any other show/movie do a new ending because people found some inconsistancies? Hardly the end is the end.

I am not saying the need to chang the ending just give more altenate endings so that what i did would actually matter. As in I know you made there choices, but WE want this ending only so what you did dont matter, now pay me more.

Guys guys guys! Glad this thread is attracting more people but this is the Spoiler-Free Forum. More than welcome to come join us over in the Spoilers Allowed forum (which, sadly, no mod or dev has come to respond to us in), but for here, please edit your posts to remove any and all mention of specific in-game events, no matter how briefly or vaguely you describe them.

Thanks! And hold the line!
