Found a hacker. Two questions

I was playing a multiplayer game through the quick match system. The game was a Silver challenge on Firebase Ghost against Cerberus.

I noticed that about once per wave, my ammo (I was using a Mantis X with spare ammo and extended barrel) would jump to 999 spare shots, exceeding its normal maximum of 36. I suspected that one of my teammates was probably using an external program, but wasn't sure which one at the end.

At the end of the mission, one of my teammates switched from his Falcon to a Mantis and fired off about a dozen shots without reloading, despite the gun being a single-shot weapon. (My Mantis still required reloading, so the hack that did that was definitely not squad-wide, proving him guilty in my eyes)

After the match, I received the normal amount of credits for a silver challenge.

Two questions:
1. Is there a process for reporting people who do this? This was fairly blatant cheating, and really undermines the fun of the multiplayer.
2. Is it safe for me to spend the credits I received? (Again, I only received the normal 30,000 credits)

definetly a question to ask, the only bans that i have heard of are when you get 1 million + credits from a bronze run and spend them on packs.

as for reporting the hacker, just like the endings, that has yet to be finished :)

I would email EA tech support immediately and inform them of what happened, and do NOT spend those credits until they give you permission to do so (and keep the email or chat log where they tell you it's ok). This hacking thing is a major problem, and I've already heard of innocents getting caught in the crossfire.

Fair point. I'm 100% convinced it was him, but I'll remove the name from my post. I e-mailed support just after opening this thread.

I have a fair idea what trainer is being used. I have seen it a few times, even been affected by the ammo amount and rapid fire of my weapon.

I will send the info to the Bioware devs if they need it.

Just so you know, when that happens it's the leader's fault.

And it's not a trainer, editing the files to do this is actually quite easy, has been since the demo was out.

Oh yeah I know you can edit specific things in the coalesced file. Trainers actually affect the MP part also, because Bioware apparently have not used seperate functions to deal with damage dealing etc and just used the Single Player stuff to do it.

No, no, see, any change you make to the coalesced will affect both SP and MP, because the game uses the same file for both, so no need for a trainer. It's a really big oversight from Bioware.

I know both affect the game, you misread what I was trying to say.

I know about the coalesced file editing for MP advantages.

I also know a Trainer can cause problems also.

I'm fairly sure it was not just an ini file edit. My ammo number was jumping to 999 mid-match without me picking up any ammo. I don't think an ini file edit would be able to do that.

Good to know that only the host can affect these things. If I host my own game, I can be guaranteed hacker-free?

It can. Remember the me2 weapon changes that made them behave like old style recharge ones?

"If you feel your experience has been affected by playing with a cheater, please send us a message at me3mpcheaters@bioware.com. Please also add the Origin ID/Gamertag/PSN ID of the supposed cheater
along with the time of your match(es) with him and why you think this user has been cheating."

Thanks much! I'll fire off another e-mail there.
