I don't have a background in PR, but what you posted, I more or less also figured is what's going on (and happen to agree with the opinions stated therein). The devs obviously care- you can't make a franchise like this without truly caring about your product, story, whatever. But making a decision on how to proceed, in a rapidly developing situation like this, isn't going to happen right away lest it go awry. Best to keep a lid on things until enough information surfaces, and a definitive response can be made.
Edit: and thus, we get things like these Twitter responses/queries. It's not "end all be all" official, but it does extend both an information probe and olive branch simultaneously, generating goodwill and getting more info. about how to proceed. It's a good first step.

That's better. It's hard to go in detail with a twitter, but it gives a summation of your measured belief.DarkSpider88 wrote...
Alright lets try this:
"@masseffect 98% of ME3 is Epic. The ending(s) leave something to be desired. Shep does not refute ending logic, just accepts. Shep Speech?"
Thoughts?
If you have the space, you might want to reference which topic you thought was illogical that Shepard can't dispute. (Since Shepard can dispute the innate dangers of synthetics in the game, that wouldn't be a good one.)

Someone should really just post the Jeremy Jahns youtube link, it sums up 90% of the generalized feeling.
Well that and suggesting that if they could've turned the last push to the beam into a more epic scaled up version of the suicide mission from ME2 where you got to tell your current squad and your old ME2 squad mates what to do.
I added a link to the Gamefront article '5 Reasons'. It's pretty much dead on with all my concerns.

Yes, I am inclined to be offended when I buy a product that is the culmination of five years of build up that ends in a giant flop and the response is "we wanted it to be polarizing" as if the fan's complaints aren't serious.Dean_the_Young wrote...
Only from a self-important perspective already inclined to perceive offense regardless. Which rather includes you if you consider citing people who disagree with you as 'pretty antagonistic.'PKchu wrote...
No, I'd say the Casey Hudson interview, the retweeting of pro-ending articles and the general silence was pretty antagonistic. Some of MassEffect's earlier tweets were basically trolling..
"Self-important" is another word for "entitlement" which is a silly criticism. Not being taken seriously is aggravating.

On the other hand it also takes away a bit of hope -- the indoctrination theory was my only real hope that they had a real ending already waiting in the wings as a patch.
Now, even if this leads to anything, it could be 6 months to a year before we see any results.

I see it as simply another battle line. I don't have a ease of tension at all, but another front to assault.
Yes the battle is not over. We still must hold the line...

Meh. If they want to know what we think of the ending, they can read the friggin' forum. It's not like we haven't already let them know what we think.
i think if they really read these pages, they know what's going on but this is like a public announcement to let u know they know.
good thing but we still have a long way to go.

I find it odd that they keep asking for the player feedback on why we hated the endings. If any writer at Bioware can't look at the ending objectively and figure it out in 3 seconds then something is wrong.
I don't find it odd at all, we've been giving them feedback since the game came out and they're trying to show us they're listening.
