Fair enough in that case.RogueBot wrote...

You make it sound like movies always correctly portray the video games(or usually books) they're based off of.RogueBot wrote...
Well, you KNOW a major film studio would demand the ending be changed, considering the feedback and the fact that negative buzz about the ending would harm ticket sales.
They'd probably use "the ending's different!!!" to stir up some viral marketing.
I can bet you a Mass Effect movie would be significantly different, including the ending, to the games. Even if the ending was great this would still probably be the case.
I make it sound like they always portray them accurately by pointing out that they would make them change it? What?
I agree with you, and I wasn't born yesterday. What I'm saying is that the studio would make a point of telling the audience well before the movie released that the ending would be different. Such changes from books to movies, or video games to movies, are rarely advertised, but in this case it would be. Most likely through viral marketing.

This! Mass Effect is such a weird choice for a feature film. It'd be best to keep it in the same setting, but focus on a different time period or different characters.VigilancePress wrote...
I probably wouldn't want to see a Mass Effect movie. Mass Effect is a very personal experience, with a Shepard whose appearance, gender, and morals I got to choose. If they feature the same characters in the film, I will wind up spending the whole time being frustrated on some level that it isn't "My" Shepard up on screen. If they set the film after the events of the video game, I'm even less likely to want to go.
(Not that I'm especially enthusiastic for the franchise right now anyway.)

I wouldn't have watched a ME movie before ME3 anyway.
I don't really see the point. ME is (apparently, not so sure now) about the choices we each make as individual players, so each journey through the ME universe is unique to us. This is something that can only exist as a video game; the notion of making it into a film defies the whole reason the franchise exists.
I see movies as a way for the ignorant people who think video games are for children to experience the story.
