Actually, I'd love to see a Mass Effect movie. I'm not going to let my displeasure with ME3 effect my enjoyment of the series as a whole, whether that be the other games, books, comics or movies.
Will you watch a mass effect movie now?

Considering how many movies have weird failed endings like War of the Worlds and Knowing (though, those endings are still better than the ones in ME3) I wouldn't be surprised if they keep one of these endings.
I don't see a movie being pulled off anyway, to make every fan happy. I mean, the movie will choose who lives ashley or Kaidan, and most likely it will be Ashley, which also means they will pick the LI again most likely Ashley (hopefully an actress that looks better than her failed mass effect 1 model). Then there's the decision to save the council or not, the rachni queen, who lives in the suicide mission unless they save everyone. Keeping the base or not, and well they will be inevitable complains. Oh and to add more drama they will make Shepard romance Miranda to make a whole drama between Ash and Miranda on the 3rd film.
It would still be a nice movie and all but fans won't be happy, though non-fans might.

It would be hard to say. Lot of love for the ME universe, but a few things that would push me away from it:
A) What's the point? It seems like a tired argument, but... "everything blows up and everyone dies, anyways" kills my personal investment.
After controlling the character's choices, do you know how much I would hate to be sitting there watching someone else make the wrong choice? "NO, you IDIOT you'll need then alive to help build the Crucible!" or whatever. XD
C) A 2-3 hour movie would feel staggeringly short compared to weekend marathon sessions of playing Mass Effect.
D) I played femsheps. It's actually kind of jarring when I see male Shepard sometimes.

movie? I can't even handle the words 'mass' and 'effect' in the same sentence at the moment!

Nope.... whats the point? It's apparent Bioware does not care about the franchise with these plot hole ridden endings....

Uh....no, no thanks. It'll probably be as good as Doom.
Doom was not that bad

Of course! I only wish Jake Lloyd was still a little boy so he could play the star child!

Unless Legendary Pictures bails out like Fox and Paramount(i think) did on the Halo movie, it's gonna get released. Unless Bioware and EA let the series stay dead.

I can't stand to think about anything Bioware related right now, I don't know if I'll ever be able to buy another game from them anytime soon, let alone watch a movie made after a game, where the overriding precedent has been **** movies come out of even the best games.

Ok, from what i hear the movie would be like a side story taking place before the first game and during the first contact war. Now Would you see it if it was a side story like a look into the past. Or would you say "**** you Bioware, i'm not going to see the movie you've had in preproduction since 2010, because you broke my heart."?

I think Mass Effect is too large of a story to be done in even a trilogy of films. I'd like to see it done as a TV show on HBO or such. It would give them the time that's necessary to explore everything that needed to be explored. One season per game. That could give around 20 hours of material per game. Can you really imagine the 25-40 hours of content from say ME1 being condensed to 2-3 hours for a film?

I never planned to watch an ME movie anyways. It was always going to be an abomination.

Actually Hollywood would probably 'fix' the ending. Nothing ground breaking but Shep and his crew would probably/mostly live. The rest would still suck of course

Only to see Shepard doing pointless things then play twister and die followed by a "you and your friends are dead"? Yea ofc

Of course. Ending aside, I still love the universe they created. I would not expect the movie to be nearly as good as the games, but I would still be curious.
I kind of find it hard to believe that people here truly wouldn't watch it.

Thanks for all the replies. I hadn't seen anything about the movies after the "ending" forums started up, so I thought I'd provoke a conversation and see what you guys think.
Another question, If you were to make the movies. What would you have done story wise to make it something you would watch after these endings?

I wasn't itching to see a Mass Effect movie before ME3 made it clear that everyone important in the universe starves to death in Earth's orbit.

The anime one coming out is based off James....that character no one really got to know or care about.
Oh yeah...and it's basically him in that failed missions he talked about. So we're back to the Collectors.

Yes, because if five minutes of watching the lore get butchered was fun, then two hours of it must be a spiritual experience.
Sounds about as appealing as a hydrogen peroxide enema.
