Tali dies even with paragon intervention?

I just went through the scene where Tali commits suicide due to the rushed and unrealistic dichotomy the player is forced into where he has to decide if the Geth eliminate the Quarians or vice versa. I chose saving the Geth at the cost of the Quarians. So Tali intentionally falls from the cliff, and the paragon intervention mechanic shows up. I'm not sure if I right clicked in time (I was laughing with a bit of irritation at the ridiculousness of the entire situation when the paragon intervention opportunity showed up, so I wasn't prepared and thus my reaction time was slow), because despite Shephard's attempt to save Tali he wasn't able to reach her in time.

So did I just not activate the paragon response in time? Or does the paragon response not save Tali in this situation even when it is activated?

That's all I wish to know. Thanks for your time.

I'm pretty sure it's impossible to save her, yeah.

There are a couple of other "failed" persuasion checks like that like trying to stop Mordin with a paragon interrupt.

If you do it right, you can save both the quarians and the geth though.

It is possible to fail to bring the geth and quarians together, and you have to pick one.  If you pick the geth, they ravage the Quarian fleet and Tali commits suicide.  If you pick the Quarians, Legion gets angry and you're forced to shoot him.

No, in ME2 if you got her exiled and you re-wrote the geth it is impossible to save her if you choose to save the geth.

That combo is the only one that prevents you from rallying the two sides.

Paragon interrupt never works.

Cooperation between the Quarians and the Geth.... isn't that something XD you need a high enough reputation score to make a good outcome.

did you do both loyalty missions in ME2? did you make peace w/ both legion and tali in ME2? did you do all the N7 missions before hand? if so yo should have gotten the option to yell at the fleet and they listen to shepherd, because well he's a bamf.

I don't understand why the two options are "upgrade the Geth so they can wipe out the Quarians within a minute" or "kill all the Geth".

How about a "talk everyone down and THEN let the Geth use the upgrades" option?

Nope, I convinced Garrel to stand down; Tali alive, Geth and Quarians at peace.

I saved her in my save. I had peace between th quarians and the geth. Did you do all the side missions before rannoch and keep her from getting exiled in me2?

You need 5 points to get peace.

2 for not getting teli exiled
2 for killing the geth in me2
1 for making tali and legion not fight in me2
1 for saving the admiral
1 for completing the geth side mission

No... she throws herself of the cliff no matter what you unless... you have the rep, Saved Admiral Qwib, Qwib, disabled the Geth fighters. In ME 2 you have not lose her loyalty(preferred not getting her exiled) resolved the conflict between her and Legion and destroyed the Geth heretics...

So get back to it and remember choose peace like a boss... wid link with a detailed list of what needs to be done.

i think he's referring to the paragon interrupt that makes shepard lunge towards her as she jumps off., not to the paragon dialogue choices.

If so, then no Tali can't be saved by that. It's just there, probably to make you feel even worse that you couldn't save her.

There are more. Never doing Legion's loyalty, or recruiting Legion. Not doing the other Ranoch missions and saving the Peace general.

Peace is done by a point system, of which certain actions give you points. Not enough points, no peace.

I re-wrote the geth heretics, I saved Tali from exile. I saved Admiral Koris, Re-wrote the geth with the reaper code and save the geth and quarians. I got tali till the end where she left me for joker and garrus on a jungle planet.

I think that decisions from ME2 and how you handle the conflict here determines the outcome. This is the best outcome possible:

Mass Effect 3 - Keelah se'lai - Quarian/Geth Ending HD

But... the Reapers are defending us from the Geth!! Kill them before they make peace or want to be living beings.

Sorry, Renegade night.

Know how you feel. I´m really paragon when playing ME, and in my ME3 game, Tali died and the Quarians where wiped out. I was devastated.

But I can understand that getting peace between this two cultures is really hard.

I only read the first three replies or so (to avoid spoilers--I'm trying to avoid this spoilers allowed subsection as much as possible until I beat the game), but they gave me enough understanding. Basically, it's impossible to save both the Quarians and the Geth (and logically both Tali and Legion) if you're starting Mass Effect 3 with a new character because of the default plotline it uses, which includes Tali being exiled.
