Sure enough I don't understand it. To me its not important, I'm not going to pretend I'm on THAT world when I'm playing the game so I won't be pissed if my char runs when everyone else is walking. So what? You are late for work, so you better run, the darkspawn are slaughtering people while you waste your time looking at your own face while walking.
You are new type of breed for myself that I have met, then again I haven't wasted time in WoW role playing circles so I guess there's alot of you out there. I guess I'm just taking this game seriously enough when I don't understand the problem. I guess I should go out and buy myself some armor, helmet, shield and sword so I can really feel like I'm in the game world being a badass and ofcourse get myself a mirror above my screen so I can watch my own face while doing this all. Yeah.
Wow, the camera just sucks!

Yet just because you do not like a certain feature or that is missing, does not automatically mean the camera is horrible. Your comment of being a low level programmer is also rubbish, as the ini files are generally designed for computer users to tweak there games performance. Anyone with slight a brain could have done this, you don't need to be a programmer to do so.

Dunno whats the problem.
Wabewalker your texting is too "offensive" that pisses people off.
All others should first read correctly and then judge.
I have the same opinion like Wabewalker because of the Camera and Movement.
You can toggle Walk/Run, but cant walk with Mouse-Pointing.
I wuld refer to NWN 1, rather then NWN 2.
Camera is personal feeling. I liked the Infinit Engine Free-Roam camera more then the fixed
camera. And sometimes you should be so roud of your char and just want to look at him close
I would be thankful to Bioware, if they include some Movement and Camera options
in a Patch.

Its amazing you've ever enjoyed a game if you always cry this much. You sound like a whinny little kid. Just get over it or don't play so we don't have to hear about it. I don't understand how one person can cry so much. I'm amazed you played NWN2 if you can barely work a keyboard or even bother to read a manual. People like you just annoy me, how hard is it to appreciate a good game instead of acting like a child & complaining about the most frivolous things. It's just walking I understand it seems out of place to run everywhere but how about hopping on the toolset & getting some work done. Fix it yourself or shut up already.

Hmm right click on the ground and your character goes there... if you then hold down the right button you can spin and rotate the camera to your hearts content while zooming in and out with the mouse wheel. If you want to walk you the walk toggle button.... sorry but none of your complaints make any sense?

I don't care about walk/run issues. But I won't be buying Dragon Age until I get a chance to try it somewhere. I am extremely sensitvie to camera control issues. From what I am reading you have no vertical axis control at ALL!
I can't play these games in zoomed in third person view mode for exploration (they make me motion sick) and it sounds like zoomed out is useless for actually running around because the camera is aimed at the dirt and you can't control it. Argh. I guess NWN is my last great RPG...

Partly, on the PC, it seems to be the fact that the camera isn’t
fantastic and that the keyboard and cursor act independently. We may as
well say frankly that if you want to play as an archer in Dragon Age
then you’re going to definitely need to play in the third person view.
Ranged weapons often have tremendous range and can shoot across great
expanses, but the isometric view robs you of this advantage by focusing
the camera down and removing control.

@op - I'd imagine the reaction to your complaint was based more on HOW you voiced it, rather than the fact you DID voice it. That being said, I can kinda understand your point on setting it to auto-walk from point A to B, then just taking a look around. Believe it or not, I used to do this just after the release of WoW - you know...back when the game actually meant something ;p In fact, I prefer playing it this way in most rpgs, for example, not looting property belonging to others (unless I was playing a certain character type, or they deserved it!) even if there were no penalties for doing so, and so on. For those complaining that this is a nit-pick, I'd argue that it isn't. For those complaining that the op's comments were unnecessary, I'd definitely agree. As for a solution? I've seen one other mention this already on the subject of click-walking; have you tried clicking to move very close (right next to) the character? From some videos I've seen, this appears to work...not as if it's the ideal solution, but it's still the closest you're likely to get until someone decides to try and change things

Im sure they throw in a fix for this at some point for those of use to like to walk in a room instead of run. If not there is always the modding community to fall back on for a camera fix.
But I do agree a good or bad camera coupled with a good or bad combat system are the two main things in my opinon that can generally make or break a game.

Gentlemen, Ladies, and of course, the rest of us lovely gamers,
It has been a little difficult to pull the information I am looking for directly out of most of the posts. I am hoping someone would be kind enough to help and simply tell me:
- Is it possible to disable the camera's auto-correct to look over my character's shoulder after I manually rotate it?
I generally know which direction I want to look in, and it's frusturating to have the camera do it for me. Heh, while it is a great system for some, I just happen to prefer Neverwinter Nights 2's ability to turn that option off. ;D
Thank you for your time reading my post, and I appreciate any suggestions. Also, I'm not interested in debating, just a simple yes or no answer will be fine.

Is there any camera mods in order to adjust it as I want? If yes, where could I find them? All default mods are inconvenient for me.
