My PC is a berserker warrior, I guess I need Leliana for opening chests, want Morrigan for her offensive magic, and Wynne has to come.  Will I miss any comments from Alister leaving him behind?

hmm. no tank on nightmare might be tough .. I personally always go: Allistair, Wynne and then either Lilliana or Morrigan, depending on my character.

You can always bring Leiliana back for the locked chest just after you completed the Quest.  Thats what I do since....well, as much as I like her she kinda sucks.

No i dont recall any importent dialogs with Alistair in the tower.

You dont have to bring Leliana with , you can bring someone else . Then after you completed the quest you can put Leliana into party and walk throu tower looting everything locked.

I must say i play without a rogue at the moment i dont care about the small treasures you can find. Any importent chest is not locked except for those containing love letters.

I did tower me (DW warrior / Shale / Morrigan / Dog) yes i killed wynne lol.

But if i hade been playing a good guy i could have taken wynne instead of doggie.

The locked containers are xp - unless you use one of the exploits, they can give between 2-3 levels in xp overall. Just like I disarm all traps, even the stupid random encounter traps. I guess I scrounge for xp since I have never reached level 25.

You don't really need 2 mages for Broken Tower, and frankly Morrigan is very tiresome in the tower if you intend to save the mages. Alistair is nothing special in the tower, though a tank is a good idea, there are some hard hitters in the place.

Morrigan is not so bad to have in tower if you play evil and are going to kill anything you se to side with templers. She actualy get a rather high approval hit think its +12 after you choosen to slay all.

But you are right if you mean when you play good

I left Morrigan out and Wynne did respectably in her place. Alistair and Leliana were my other two characters. As much as mages are considered overly powerful, you don't need to have Morrigan along for the Circle. My main character, Lyle, was also a beserker warrior.

you have to bring wynne anyway so not bringing isn't a option I had Wynne, Alister, myself as rouge and Liliana and my 4th slot is for whoever i want

I brought Morrigan along and didn't have any problems. A swapped her out for Wynne for the duration of the quest though.

Morrigan and Wynne can have a confrontation, but I probably had a high enough persuasion skill to prevent it.

Two playthroughs now one as a male elf rogue and the other as a female human mage and I did not take Morrigan on either of those playthroughs. All you really need is one healer in the group however with the mage I had two and this also allowed me to put points into spells that would do damage rather then healing as my PC mage leveled during the Circle tower. So two mages in a group can be useful because it allows you to take different directions when leveling that you might not have been able to take if you had only one mage in the party.

Now if they only would have included a magic in the game that allowed mages to unlock chests and disarm traps, then I would not need to take a rogue when playing a PC mage. I like to open all the chests, doors, etc even if there is nothing there I really need...lol

Thanks everyone. My first attempt, I took a wrong dialogue route, and had Wynne turn on me (hadn't been paying enough attention, and was trying to avoid a 'Morrigan disapproves').

Wondered if Alistair would have some cutting comments to say about the Circle from his past!

I've got some glyphs and the cold-line on Morrigan, and they are pretty useful. I guess it might be Alister or Leliana that stays behind.
