Just my taste, but don't like forced deaths in choice based games. Legion, would have saved you if I could!

Legion's, Mordin's, and yes even Thane's deaths were all meaningful. Mordin died undoing his greatest regret, Legion gave its kind the gift of true intelligence, and Thane had one last fight in him.

And then the game ending undoes it all.

Legion was my favorite squad member. It sucks that you spend your time getting to know him and then he's gone. No way to change that. It's like with Mordin and Thane, their deaths are really unavoidable. It sucks that BW had to be so cruel. At least in ME1 you had to choose between two squad mates, one can live. We don't have that choice in ME3. Legion can die heroically, or you can shoot him. Period. It just sucks. Resurrect Legion!!!!

Man, when he said, "I know Tali...Keelah se'lai" ... I collapsed into a pile of tears.
Also just him referring to himself as "I" instead of "We"

THIS!  I knew it was coming cuz people like to spoil things, but it still hit me harder than I thought. First time I was truly upset over a death in a game (so far.. have yet to finish it).  Well done, Bioware.

I'll miss him.

I felt his renegade death was more emotional (less heroic) but he the way he died, on his knees, asked his question, and fell to his knees and then Tali answered.

Made peace - so I didn't choose. But Legion is a damned hero - he gave his new-found self to help his people. Now that's a gift.

The whole Geth/Quarian mission was the best and most emotional part of the game with the final cutscene as emotional climax imo

I understand why he died. Made the endings for Rannoch believeable.

However like Mordin I disagree with killing him.  I kinda adopted him into the Shepard family like alot my squadmates and I want him back if it was possible.  With him living, along with making peace between the geth and quarians, Rannoch would be a complete happy ending.

I wish some kind of special mission could be added for ME3 NG+ (Imported ME3 Save) so he could survive but I doubt it will happen. :(

Very sad, especially after watching some of his memories in the Geth collective mind. He was my favorite.

Legion never died in my game, because Legion was Geth. His platform may have deactivated, but that's pretty common with Geth. Legion (the program) was repurposed, he never truly died if you made peace. Once Legion abandons his platform other programs can disseminate the experiences of his platform with Shepard. The game never implies that the Geths ability to disseminate data and form consensus is taken away when they attain personalities, so Legion lives, long live Legion!

I believe you can truly kill Legion when you sell him to Cerberus in ME2, same as you can kill Jack when you skip Grissom Academy.

I loved Legion's death and all the dialogue surrounding it. I didn't feel sad though, I felt proud, he died for such a good cause. Seeing the alternate ways that scene plays out on youtube was interesting too, especially when Shepard takes the Quarians' side and Legion turns on him, seemed so out of character.

SPOILERS FOR ENDGAME BELOW... YOU ARE WARNED...

As much as the ultimate endings are poop, remembering Legion's sacrifice and what he did is really what made me pick "synthesis". Besides the fact that I didn't consider "control" to be an option and I wasn't about to commit genocide on the geth through "destroy", the "synthesis" ending almost completely paralleled Legions's death. He had to "go to them", his people, in order to really save them. And Shepard had to do the same, dissolving in the green beam and "going to them", to all organics, to save them and bring them peace.

I feel it was a bitter sweet moment properly done, unlike a certain other aspect of the game *cough*ending*cough*. I was sad when the Geth Prime came up and said he was gone, but I'm just glad I could avoid killing either the Quarians or Geth.
