And it was EXTREMELY HARD almost worse than mass effect 2 especially at the last part with the banshees and brutes gang banging you but anyways, has anyone else beated it on insanity? I don't think i'm one of the first ones to do it...

I've heard the opposite, that ME2's insanity was harder. I'll try it out soon, but I'm too addicted to Coop. Btw, what class did you use?

I'm not sure i would recommend it, but i used Engineer just because it seemed good to have 2 turrets fight for you and to top it off i heard i could use carnage as a spam attack and in the end it worked out perfect. I also gave my companions (those who could use it) the particle rifle and that seemed to give me an edge when it came down to me having to hide. But yea 2 turrets, 2 companions with particle rifles, and spamming carnage behind cover. But in all honestly i would say stick with infiltrator just because my way involves too much micro managing.

Overall, ME2's insanity was harder. But if we compare the last fight from ME2 to the last fight from ME3...

Well... in ME2, my 200% Cain made extreme short work of the Human Reaper. So, ME3's Banshee and Marauder and a freaking Reaper taking cheap shots at me is much harder than ME2.

The Banshee Marauder fight however is only slightly more difficult than Arrival's survive the wave because the enemies are stronger.

Comparing the entire ME2 insanity experience to ME3. ME2 is harder sometimes, ME3 well it is hard when your level is low but once you pass level 40... well I suppose I can say the same for ME2 after I got all my upgrades.

Those..."banshee" they are the converted Asarians are they not? I personaly hate those wailing screaming monstrosities. I dread what they will be like on Insanity.

the only really hard parts for me in insanity were the fight with Kai-leng and the last part in London. Other than that, it was pretty easy on insanity.

I will put some tips if someone has problems:

I did it as a Soldier. You need to take cover, use concussion shot, disruptor ammo and adrenaline rush A LOT. Also the grenades come handy later in the game, so upgrade them as soon as you can. So those are the ones you would need to upgrade (along with the one that enhances life and shield) . Also have tanks as team mates, like Vega and Garrus/ashley. E.D.I and Liara will die A LOT if you pick them.

Weapon wise I used a Vindicator-V rifle, Shuriken-V machine gun, and paladin-v pistol. I didn't equipped a sniper nor shotgun, because of the weight. If you get over-weighted your abilities will recharge way slower. Upgrade Garrus Concussion shot, overload, and the other thing that enhances life and shield. For Vega upgrade life and shields, grenades, and that "shot" that explodes when hit people lol, I don't remember the name.

When fighting a brute make sure you always have something between you and him. He cant jump above all obstacles, so if done right you will kill him in no time, because he will not be able to hit you.

When fighting a banshee you must use disruptor ammo to bring down the shields quickly. I recommend to upgrade disruptor ammo so that every one in your team can use it as soon as you activate it, in order to blast through her shields. After that use Garrus mines, and Vega´s grenades/"explosive shots"; while you use your grenades and concussion shots. When is teleporting try to hit her directly, so that she stops.

The first 2 parts of Kai-Leng fight are quite easy if you throw grenades as new soldiers spawn lol . But the third one with the phantoms can be a real pain in the ass. What I did is to take cover in the hole the first squad spawns, with my team, and began to shoot like crazy to the phantoms. Used Garrus overload, adrenaline rush (so I make more damage, and take less) and disruptor ammo in order to damage their shields, and after that, it was a concussion shot, grenade, mine, "explosive shot" FEST. Once you kill the 3 you already won, because Kai-Leng alone is an easy pray.

And the part in London when you are against 2 banshees, and a reaper gang, I recommend to use the missile launcher that is on the shelve on the left side of the store that is on the left of the BIG ROCKETS. Try to wait for the 2 banshees to come together so the barrier of both of them goes down at the same time. Before attacking the banshees try to defeat the reaper dudes that appear as soon the wave arrives, because if not it will be hard to have some space in order to fight the banshees.

After that you will face a BRUTE GANG of 4-5. Those will kill you in no time unless you use the tactic I mentioned above. ALWAYS PUT SOMETHING BETWEEN YOU AND THEM.

And finally will come another gang with banshees. As you are killing them, EDI will tell you to go to the console and active the second pack of rockets. When that happens activate adrenaline rush and run like there is no tomorrow because they will swarm you, so you will want to get there fast.

Hope this help :D

I think each class have different strength against different foes. For Soldiers, the Brutes maybe brutal but to a Vanguard, I dare say 4-5 is not enough to give them significant preasure.

For infiltrators, I guess cloak and run alone is enough for the Banshee fight.

well at least for infiltrator and vanguard me3 is easier than me2 BY FAR.
I suspect the same holds true for adept/sentinel. I've heard engineer is the worst class in me3, haven't tried it myself.

My first playthrough was on Insanity as a Adept and found that it was FAR easier than ME2, at least as a Adept since they're actually useful. I found it especially easy when using the prothean since his spell (can't remember the name) allows me to combo on armored units with Warp.

Started on insanity with lvl 1 soldier. Was hell in the beginning, after I bought paladin pistol and leveled some skills (singularity is life saver), became much easier. Still died alot in hard places

ps/ ME2 was cakewalk compared to ME3

Did this on insanity on my first run as engineer. The brutes were easy, turret and drone practically raped them. Banshees weren't bad, but they do respawn so I didn't try very hard trying to kill them. Had to redo the whole sequence though...got stuck on a wall trying to get to the missles and a marauder got me =(

Adept, Insanity. I combo'ed my way through, and combat felt easier than ME2, but still fun enough.

Soldier played insanity with both a Turian and a Robotic companion - double overload was key. I agree that banshees were completely unnecessary but in all honesty the most trouble i had in that game was killing a single marauder on my way 'down the hill', but that might simply be because at that point i was up nearly 24 hours straight playing ME3

Forget about the "difficulty" for a while.

Anyone find that combat is very fast, fluid and satisfying XD

Unlike ME2, we dont have to worry about stripping every enemy before launching them into orbit. Unlike ME2, we dont have to or we cannot hide in a few spots and camp out most fights.

Doesnt rolling out of cover and lunge into Heavy Melee attack feels satisfying ^_^

All in all, I find ME3 combat more fun and exciting, there are so many ways to KILL and more brutally too >:)

i've done insanity on all but sentinel now full playthroughs and adept is the easiest. rank 6 warp + rank 6 throw takes a brute down to 1/4 health. it also not only rips the shields off marauders/nemesis/centurions/shadows/etc. but takes them down to half healt or less after. with a sniper rifle, yoru first shot will never penetrate the shields not even a widow/black widow.

you can play through adept on insanity and never once fire your gun except for the few story parts that force it on you (mars, london)

I seem to remember ME2 being considerably harder. ME3's minibosses are a lot easier than the Scion/Praetorians (plus the penalty of being slow on Harbinger kills). Banshees are scary, but you can stop their charge, and once they aren't charging they're just dead meat. In particular there aren't many things that knock you out of cover, and with good weapon/companion/power choices you can obliterate almost anything before they get to you.

ME3 also seems to have way better companion abilities, plus the weight system means your own CDs are often much shorter than they would be normally. Better weapon choices, too.

Having Liara and being a Sentinel made Insanity in ME3 a bit too easy. ME2 Insanity felt significantly harder for me.

But I have to admit that the part where you have to activate the missiles (I think that's what it was can't remember, before the running to the beam part) on the streets of London was the hardest part. Marauders + Banshees coming non stop, so I just ended up running to the objective when it became available.

Made an Engineer with no import; level 1 and Insanity is more of a challenge. Also, not bringing Liara this time around!

I beat it on Insanity as an Adept and I used Jhavik 100% of the time and I alternated between Liara and Garrus. Other then Kai Leng and a few times during Tuchanka I didn't really have a hard time.

I played infiltrator thought it was pretty much on par with ME2 with difficulty if I had to choose I would say ME2 was a little more rough solely due to the fact that the black widow and cloak tear S&*%T up but beating on insanity was still awesome.

Does anyone else have a hard time playing multiple classes I cant steer away from infiltrator I love that class and cloak.

But I figure hell maybe i should try something else any other class people recommend for insanity I will not gimp the diff down.
