ME2's insanity wasn't actually hard, they just gave every enemy ridiculous armor and shields and had them all go for Shepard even if it made little sense.
Just completed Mass Effect 3 on Insanity...

I was an adept that rolled with Javik and Liara. The only reason I though this was a cakewalk was because I kept out thinking the AI. Anytime a cannibal tossed a grenade behind me and it was behind cover: Pause. Have Liara stasis bubble those enemies and have Javik pull those two. I would then vault cover, run up take cover and grab the cannibal or if I could a marauder and kill him then double throw from Javik's double pull and Liara with her amazing cooldown would warp the stasis people. I did this in the end game in London as well.
My adept was a wanna be vanguard :DD
In ME2 I finished insane with vanguard and sentinel without dying once while doing all loyalty missions and anomlies I came across for both files :3
Tech armor and GSB made you unkillable.
