There was even more dialog in this scene but it was vetoed and removed.

I love this moment apart from the talk of kids. The discussing the future part in general is a great idea and would love to have seen it.

Definitely hate it when stuff got cut that's as powerful as this ...

I wish this hadn't been cut.

I think it was cut because it didn't fit within I'm Proud of You. The song is only 1:15, the whole scene takes 2:00+. A crying shame, literally.
Not sure if I can buy that. Don't the battle music tracks get looped? I would expect it could've been done here too.
Such a shame, indeed. Mark Meer / Jennifer Hale / Keith David...you're too good!

I've heard that you can get this conversation if you stay single throughout the trilogy, can anyone confirm/deny this?

This conversation is great, but I think the extra dialogue would be like salt in the wounds already open after all the loss before...and after the ending.

To cheer everyone up, imagine Shepard meeting with teachers... in armor, because he/she was in a hurry.

I can see why they cut it but I still love it.
Yea, if we aren't going to ever see our LI again, then why bother?

Even with the whole ending fiasco, I would like to think my Shepard is in some kind of heaven or a quiet place and finally enjoying the peace.
It's a beautiful scene.

maybe they could incorporate it in the EC? I know why they cut it, but they could at least leave it in for people who stayed faithful to their LI, that could be the "reward" we were suppose to get (ha yeah right).

A bit of a late reply but whatever.
A few people tested it and apparently you don't get this conversation even if you don't romance anybody. At the same it also seems a bit of a silly reason not to include it in all romances anyway... there may be the possible exception of Thane but I guess it doesn't hurt to think Shepard can find another fish in the pond.
Hopefully they'll include it in the extended cut.

I've seen it before. It's really emotional and just shows how Bioware truly excels at storytelling and character interactions, unfortunately I don't know what went wrong at the ending :'( and my Shepard would've been a great mom to these little blue children, but she's 'ascended' to a higher existence. :/ not as rewarding as LITTLE FLIPPIN' BLUE CHILDREN!

Probably because it would be a kick in the gut if Shepard died. They figured this would rub salt into an all ready pretty grimdark finale.
