There's one big problem with all these "It's BioWare's story now STFU" threads.

BioWare has always advertised the game as "Your story."

"Decide how it ends" was used repeatedly.

I'm not going to reject this post. That would be too easy. Instead, I'll encourage it a bit-- let's go on a little thought journey.

We have one camp now that will not buy anything else Bioware makes unless they first show us they're capable of telling a story with a proper resolution. These people see themselves as forcing Bioware to follow through on its "creative vision" of Mass Effect.

We have a second camp, seen in the original post, that demands Bioware not make any changes to their "creative vision." For some reason, these people do not realize Bioware already changed their "creative vision" in the last five minutes of the game.

The end result is no matter what Bioware does, a good chunk of people will simply not touch a Bioware game again. The fantastic part of this is none of this would have happened if Bioware had simply provided an acceptable end (as in closure, catharsis, and no violation of the writer-reader contract) the first time. Karma's going to bite Bioware for this, no matter what option they take.

I think an indoctrinated ending is brilliant.

If indoctrination is the case then it's not an ending. In that case, this game has no ending. And I can't even return it.

If you bought a pizza and you got only sauce and the toppings, you WOULD return it. Unless you like licking off sauce from cardboard.

They'll pull out their artistic license when things are going poorly, they'll squeeze me for cash when things are going well.

Bioware is a business as they are artists. They're job is to provide profit to the shareholders by grabbing as much of the market as they can. If the product disappoints, people will have no problem jumping ship to see what the competition is selling. They can stick to their artistic guns, but don't be surprised if business suffers because of it.

Yeah yeah.

We all know people whine about so many products and still buy them... Consumerism at its best ^_^

And didn't you decide how it ended?

Someone made the choice of destroying or controlling or embrassing synthetic life for you?

If that's closure for you, congrats.

For starters, what about the fate of the Normandy crew? Or the fact that the massive armada you brought to Earth is now stuck in the Sol system?

There's a bunch of other inconsistencies as well, but we can start with how those were resolved (hint: they weren't).

Who was star kid?
Who created the reapers?
Is Shepard alive or dead?
What happened to the Normandy? Where is it?
What happened to all the crew members?
Are all the people that were on the Citadel dead?
What happened to all the factions and races?
Are they all doomed to die in Sol due to lack of fuel, supplies, etc?
Are the mass relays really destroyed? Therefore dooming the galactic economy?
Are the reapers really gone? All 3 endings could be conveyed either way.

i love some of the sociological mess's some people create in order to actually troll or try to logically battle against 1000's of people who have already brought factual evidence to the table and then you argue that they shouldn't change the ending even though 98% of there fan base is telling them that they systematically wiped out any trust and respect people had for the company in the space of 5 minutes while at the same time destroying a trilogy with nonsensical nonsense from the starchild to the fact that the story ends 16 times over in 3 different colours with barely any variation ...

your logic escapes me.
but yeah go ahead bioware dont listen to a majority of your fan base its not like we pay for your products right?

What I don't understand is why users ARE OPPOSED to more content? Because people ask for it? Where is the logic in that?

Thats essentially is what everyone here is asking when you get down to it, and I am all for additional content, especially if it takes the replay value of ME3 right now, which is 0 and boosts it up to a 10.

I'm not opposing to more content, I'm opposing to BioWare following the fans regarding something that is alright so far. If they have any adds to the story, that they should put it, ofc, but not because the fans didn't like how things were left out.

If what ppl are asking for is simply more DLCs then that makes them look even more dumb because the game will already have it, want them or not.

So you're just going to stop following the series because the ending wasn't 100% spelled out for you? They told you the Reapers were stopped. They showed you Shep (most likely) lived. They showed you the universe is saved. Everything else is more fun for you to imagine according to your own personal Shep.

I see no problem with not buying something that isn't necessary. This is entertainment and at this point you can find better entertainment everywhere.

This one wont be buying Mass Effect 4, if ME3's endings aren't fixed. I already stopped buying other EA games. So why would any further sequels from bioware be any different?

All hes saying is what i believe in, hes pleading BW that, if they want to give us a proper conclusion to Shepards story they can do so in post game dlc, instead of completely scraping the current endings.

I defend this, hell, i would be fine with them simply adding in new endings (thou id rather have a post game dlc that adresses the worst plotholes), but id rather not see someone completely change the endings they already put in.... its hard to admit, but its their game and vision, no matter how screwed up itll end up. And all you can do is either accept that, or simply not support them.

If they did add new endings, then at least there would be a point to replaying the game with all the other Shepards i had ready, and if they do make something of the sort.... when do you think itll be? Next week? Hell no, expect to be waiting for months.

If this isn't patched, the lost my business. Why would I buy another Bioware game after this embarrassment? I'm not going to play 200 hours worth of a series when my actions won't impact the ending. It is a slap in the face. I accepted the watered down conversation, but this is just unacceptable.

Yeah. If anything, you'd think they would *want* to fix it.
