Hi there,

I installed Mass Effect 3 on launch day and installed it. When I went to play it it said I needed to update, however when I accept the update, Origin just sits there "Preparing" for around 5-10 minutes. After this it sits there yet again preparing but will show a progress bar that stays on 0% forever.

I've been able to play the game by skipping the update, however I can't play multiplayer with my friends as we now have different versions. I've tried reinstalling Origin, and ME3 multiple times, and even Live Support gave this as my only other alternative.

Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

Hi,

Sorry to hear you are having problems. 

In order for us to look into this can you please send the following info to ME3QALaunchSupport@bioware.com

• Your Origin username
• Your Client_Log.html file from Origin just after the problem occurs. Usually found at C:\\ProgramData\\Origin\\Logs
• The version of Windows (XP, 7 etc) you are using

Will a successful patch leave behind a readme.txt of some kind in the ME3 install folder with patch notes? I don't see one and I don't think I haven't been patching correctly every time I try. I also get the "Preparing/Checking for Update" window that stays open until it times out. The error message I receive afterwards is "An unexpected error has occurred. Please try again in a few moments. Error: 1". THEN, the download progress bar under the game picture in my Library starts at 0%, and a quick mouse-over will reveal a progress of 0 out of 13.8GB, as if it's going to download the whole game over again. Cancelling that download opens another message that says "Your game is up to date". I don't think it is, so I'm going to send the requisite info and error log email.

Do I need to be logged out of Origin for you guys to make whaver fixes you're going to make? Or will they take effect the next time I sign in?

Just wondering if you guys are able to patch correctly now? I have the same issue.
