although I agree with the rest that the line isn't by any means broken, I don't know why you expect Japanese people to get too angry over it...don't JRPGs have these kind of endings all the time? The difference is those games barely make any sense from the get-go so we expect that kind of ending.

I don't think it's about the japanese getting angry, it's about hoping that BioWare's silence is because they don't want to spoil it for the japanese.

Also, the reason japanese games don't make is because they have a very different mindset about games. Most of them have very little free time at all, and when they use it to play games they want to live out their wildest fantasies, as detached from the real world as possible. Hence the teenager swinging swords the size of a motorcycle with is, tentacle sex games and all the other wierd stuff. It's a very different culture to begin with, that in turn gives a very different gamer subculture.

Edit: Forgot to add the thing i actually wanted to post:blink: Just because people don't write hold the line at the end of every single post doesn't mean they gave up.

Damn, well for one who falls another ten who beat the game take his place.

It'll be just a damn shame that if this is what Bioware wanted, with a post-ending dlc to come out (not saying it is! if it does!) I think we'll all be a bit more miffed and yelling at our screens about god-children and deus ex machina (not the game. The term God from Machine).

Or if they make a ending dlc we'll be yelling that they should've done this in the first place. -sigh- Bioware you have one unhappy fanbase right now.

I meant more the 'japanese troops incoming' style posts, I have no problem with bioware holding their silence for Japan even though I doubt that's the reason.

And let's not even get started on japanese culture ;)

It will not be broken, I say. This story has become to important to a lot of us - it is the "Star Wars", "Star Trek" and "Battlestar Galactica" of our generation... But better. Don't leave it to rust in the mud.

Hold the line.

Chora's Den closed man. I'm sorry to be the one to let you know.

You'll have to dine elsewhere. Perhaps a nice mexican place?

Don't give up yet.

Think about how long it takes to make a game, how many hours it takes.
A week is nothing in game time.

We need patience and fortitude.

Hell, I might not post often, but Bioware/EA aren't seeing a cent from me unless we get a "The Truth"-like DLC.

I stand, as always in solidarity with those who believe that the mass effect series should be given an ending that is the product of player choice throughout the series, definitively concludes the series and above all is free from the flawed logic and plot holes that plague the current conclusion.

In the words of Major Kirrahe, "We will hold the line!!!"

Japan diehard ME fans who've played all three games will have the same reaction as us, becuase they have been playing the same games as us. That's the beauty of it, it doesn't matter what age, sex or ethnicity you have - the notes that rang true with all of us in the saga is also the combining force of faith that there must be something more to the ending.

I remember reading a post from the PA post a few days ago that it's a "western goal oriented cultural thing" that's causing the uproar about a bad ending, and that we need to all take a reality check on what's good writing. That's BS, there's such a thing as universal truth - and Bioware stomped all over that by letting us fall in love so hard and kicking us to the curb in the final minutes of the saga.

Hold the line. We are legion.
