Indeed he was born as Marauder Health... but after he realized his destiny, he erected a (metaphoric, and literal) wall around himself... to potect himself, and his soul from the harsh realities of war.

During the final confrontation with Shepard, that protective shell was stripped away, and we got to see, albiet breifly, that Marauder Health lay under the protective alter-ego of Marauder Shields.

Marauder Shields is wise, and wants us to remember the resolute, stalwart, andt empered version of his persona... something we can all aspire to become.
Underneath, he is vulnerable, finite, and mortal... just as we all are.

We all share a mortal bond with Marauder Health... and we can all aspire to be Marauder Shields.
