The worst part is, that time we gunned him down, we didn't spare a thought.
We just went "Meh, some stupid husk thing tried to shoot me, onwards to the awesome ending!"

Why the hell did he shoot the dying soldier though?

It gets me every time. He's just so nonchalant about it.

There was nothing nonchalant about it. He needed to make sure the deed was done. He needed to put down Shepard before he reached the end. Sometimes, such brutality is necessary to save the galaxy.

His self appointed mission was to guard that conduit and shoot anyone who came near it to spare them the pain.
He bravely sacrificed himself for this cause. He is the true hero of Mass Effect, the last guardian of it's integrity.

I meant that in the vid, Shep shoots the dying alliance soldier that is crawling away from the beam. It was funny.

I don't know whether I'm laughing because of how random this is, or how sad... I wish he would have killed me before I got there. Then I wish my save would have been erased and my ability to run the game corrupted until this fiasco blows over.

Why couldn't we understand what he truly wished? Why couldn't we trust and believe in the actions of the one who stands against the tide, trying to save us from ourselves? He knew, what he was up against and what we would be faced with, and tried to save us.
