Please help!
I feel compelled to continue my tradition of playing creepy bards in rpgs, named Roddo Stewart. Unfortunately there's no Halflings in Dragon Age, but any help making him for the other races will be appreciated.
Here's my first attempt.

Sadly he looks more like a really old and depressed Patrick Swayze (R.I.P. you legend)

Mh just saw that my latest entry doesn't make any sense now as i changed him for the Fellowship Contest. For all of those who remember the old picture, it was Lemmy from Motörhead

I've been trying to recreate Anika Noni Rose, I think she's beautiful .. but the CC just won't let me.  her chin is so small and her mouth is so close to it by the time you lower the nose the eyes just won't go down that far...  Of course I've been trying to make her an elf.. .. I think I might be able to do her as a dwarf but she just doesn't look that dwarfy to me.    I seem to be choosing hard faces to try to recreate...

Lol, ahhh, ya, classic.  Is that the blond hair?  It looks reddish in the screen shot.  Looks like a hard one to recreate.  But your nose tip looks a little wide compared to the photo, and you will have to reduce the nostril width also if you reduce the tip.  Also, how about pulling the jaw in and giving him a pastier complection.  I know he has that jutting jaw, but the illusion from the front if you keep the width might give a look closer to his photo.  Might have to choose the less old complection also, to acheive that pastier look.  And I think you have to widden the eye set also.

When I worked on my last one, I found that recreating dimensions exactly didn't always make it look more like the character.  I made the eye separation wider than the actual and for some reason it looked more like the actual person.

This was nagging me for a while. Eshaye's avatar, aside from being very good, reminded me of someone. It just came to me, I think she bears a strong resemblance to Katie McGrath who plays Morgana in the Merlin series.

Being a bit cheeky and reposting my last attempt, since no-one's even had a guess! If you've seen my others, I'm following something of a theme. Posted Image And this lady's not been done by any of the others following a similar theme...

Anyway, I had another go. I've been trying to get it right for days, but it's not getting much nearer, so I'm giving up and posting it as it is. I cheated slightly and took the screen grab from the best angle I could:

Actaully, looking at it now it looks even less convincing than it did at the time.

Actually, that's pretty good.  Nose is a little bit to wideat the tip and nostrils.  Did you try all the eye presets?

It's not exactly like her, but I think my attempt at an elven mage ended up looking a bit like Christina Ricci ...

(Hope this link works - I'm sure I'm being completely dim but I can't work out how you clever folk managed to embed images in your posts.)

I think you may have made her look more like a caricature of Christina Ricci, but the resemblance is there, Might want to pull it back a bit.

Fair comment, but I think it's beyond me! Once I spotted the accidental resemblence I did try to make it look more like her, but just made it worse.

She is a disturbing looking woman which you managed to catch pretty well.  Nice job, on freeky.

'Roddo' Stewart is usable now and I aim to play him, still not 100% happy with the portrait and hanging out for some more expressions being added to the CC.

Also went back to my mage Marlo to see if I could play up the Billy Dee Williams/Lando Calrissian likeness and make him a little younger.

Dr Claire Saunders? Fred? Not alliterative, but I think you get my drift.

I tried a likeness character of one of my favourite acresses.

Posted Image

It's a work in progress, but it's hard to get some of the features right, especially the eyes which you don't have too much control over.

:D  Awesome.  I guessed Lando even before reading your text.  That stache is a perfect fit.  Excellent job.  And Rod's looking better also.

Ya, she's something of a looker.  I had posted this in another thread, and its not really her, expecially in the chin.  But maybe another starting point:

Posted Image

I won't know if its even close until I see this in the post.

And the page: http://social.bioware.com/playerprofile.php?char_id=12049&display=character&nid=2298490855&game=dragonage1_pc

Edit:  Hmm. The mouth and chin and skin tone are definitely off.  But the eyes must have been where I caught a resemblence and make me think of her.

Yay! Thank you! Did I say it was alliterative? I don't remember. Certainly it wasn't the theme connecting her to my previous attempts. But her real name is Amy Acker. Any suggestions on how to improve the likeness most welcome. I'd thought she'd be fairly easy, but turned out much harder than I'd expected.

Edit: Went back and reread my original post. The alliterative thing was actually intended in response to someone else who gave that as a hint for their creation. How fortunate that it turns out mine was also!
