Ok I guess I didnt explain the type of DPS Mage I wanted. Im not a very tacticful (if that is even a word :]). I like to play the type of mage that does A LOT of damage with a couple of spells. I want my mage to be a complete powerhouse of unstoppable force. I know that Ill want to play in the Primal School since it has the basic damage spells. I also know, from a lot of advice, that Ill want to take the Blood Mage specialization class. So far Ive come up with spells to level 3. I would like help choosing the rest of my spells.
Here is what I have so far:

0...arcane bolt
1...winter's grasp, spell wisp
2...flame blast
3...lightning

Like I said earlier, I would like help in choosing the rest of my spells for a powerhouse mage with unstoppable force. Remember, Im not a tacticful person :P

0_0 your asking a pretty daunting task. You have to be somewhat tactical no matter what build you make. However, I will say Crushing Prison is a must for DPS. Immoblises foes and causes continuos damage. It's a level 4 spell.

However, you seem to want a high damge build, not DPS since you will not be doing constant damage.Spell wisp seems useless to me later on. Don't take it. I find Flame Blast kinda underpowered compared to the Ice Cone or whatever it's called. Fireball does huge damage though so I guess you need the Fire Blast. The Ice tree line is great. I highly recommend getting every spell in it if your going for a high damage build. The lightning tree line seems kinda...underpowered compared to fire and ice tree lines. They are not very high damage in comparison. However, I would say they are DPS spells since the electric damage is continuous.

. That's as good as I can help you I guess.I'm more of an assist mage if anything. I disable as many enemies as possible and make them less effective.

The problem with a 'DPS mage' as your standard new player would build it is that having 10 spells for nuking when you only need 5 to cycle through the cooldowns is pretty freaking pointless. The 'tactical' stuff has a much bigger impact on DPS than, oh... inferno will when you already have blizzard and tempest.

If you want just tons of damage spells you don't need our help really.
