I haven't saved the whole crew yet so this is just a guess, but if you don't mind a not-loyal Legion couldn't you do Tali's loyalty mission instead and take Legion along?

Not necessarily. If you've upgraded the ship properly and you don't use Legion for any of the specialist task on the Suicide Mission, and the people doing the 'Hold The Line' job while you tackle the final boss are good enough, then I think it's still possible for everyone to survive. Easier if everyone's loyal but should still be possible if only one isn't. So for example, if you use someone else in the vent tunnel who's both loyal and suitable for that task, like Tali maybe, they'll both be fine. Legion because you didn't endanger him/it and whoever you put in the vent because unlike Legion they are loyal.

No its possible, I used Legion on Tali's loyalty mission and saved Kelly/all the crew

Indeed, plus theres a certain reaction I'm trying to provoke in ME3 by doing that - But again.. How? I want the entire crew + my squad to be alive.

Right after the Reaper IFF, if you wake Legion up first thing, it grants an additional mission before the crew becomes abducted. You should wake him up, then do Tali's loyalty mission, then you will be able to talk with Legion to get his loyalty mission and complete that before the Collectors come. I have done this twice already without issue.

Pretty sure, though I haven't tried it out yet. But if the infomation in the Suicide Mission Guide thread is correct it's mathematically possible to save the Normandy crew and keep your whole team alive with one or maybe two non-loyal squad members as long as you do the ship upgrades and don't assign non-loyals to any of the jobs that automatically get them killed.

So for example, with my current game I've got Zaeed and Kasumi to help, and Zaeed is especially useful at making up for the presence of a non-loyal somewhere in the team, even more so if Zaeed is loyal himself. On paper I could send a loyal Tali or loyal Kasumi through the vent tunnels and use a loyal Garrus to lead the second team both times, and on paper the big hitters like Zaeed and Garrus would make up for Legion not being loyal in the Hold The Line task. Alternatively I could keep a non-loyal Legion alive simply by keeping him with me all the time apart from for The Long Walk task, whcih I think is the other time a non-loyal is automatically killed.

But if you want to do all the loyalty missions before then anyway all that's of academic interest.

Best of both worlds. I'm probably going to get the Suicide Mission again over the weekend and I think I'll do it that way.

Yes its possible i've done it and saved everyone. The cost is that you have to wait with Tali's mission until the end, which may not be desirable from a roleplay viewpoint, or a gaming view as Energy Drain is probably her strongest skill.

That having said, there isnt a lot to expect from dialogs. The flotilla doesnt go borderline hostile or anything. I was slightly disappointed.

As others have said, it's perfectly possible. If you want everyone loyal, do every loyalty mission except Tali's before going to the IFF, then go and you'll be able to do Tali's and Legion's afterwards, in that order.

Take Legion when you go to recruit Tali (you obviously hold off on Tali until after getting Legion) and there are some great lines with Reegar and Tali.

Yes it's possible, do absolutely every quest and side quest you can before going to the reaper IFF.. EXCEPT Tali's loyalty, then after reaper IFF activate Legion, usually if u try talkn to him further he will say "still trying to build consensus".
Go do tali's loyalty, then after that quest, go talk to legion again to receive his loyalty, go do that then straight after that mission the IFF will be ready.
I was playing on insane when I did this for the first time, so i was risking a lot to hope it works. It does.

I'm more interested in seeing how they respond to Legion in ME3 then
