I've got my whole team together (apart from Legion, of course), but I haven't done anybody's loyalty mission yet and I haven't done any assignments since completing Horizon. Am I right in thinking that it's normally five missions after Horizon that the Collector Ship mission is triggered? If so then have I only got mission I can do before being forced to go on that, or is it possible to go to Tuchanka and do both Mordin's and Grunt's missions in one visit plus get all the goodies from the shops there? If I can only do one missions, not necessarily one of the Tuchanka ones but any including DLC, what's a good one to go for to pick up extra upgrades, credits and resources, but especially upgrades?

The Collector ship mission is different than the Reaper IFF mission. You are not forced to do the Reaper IFF mission and can chose to go their when you are ready. You dont have to worry about doing everyone's loyalty missions yet. Get them done at your own pace before going to the derelict Reaper and you wont have to worry about our crew dieing.

Yes, I know. I'm not talking about the Reaper IFF Acquisition mission, just the Collector Ship mission. I might not have worded the question very well so I'll put it another way. Like Horizon the Collector Ship mission happens at certain point and you can't avoid it to go and do something else. You're told the Illusive Man wants a chat and if you go to the Comms Room to talk to him the Collector Ship mission happens immediately afterwards. If I recall from my first playthrough if you ignore it and go to the galaxy map instead because you want to do something else, anything else at all whether it's a mission or just scanning a planet because you're low on palladium or going off to buy fish, Joker tells you that you can't go anywhere because TIM wants to talk to you.
What I was asking was if there's a way to maximise the time doing other things before having to go to the Collector Ship, squeezing in an extra mission so as to pick up a couple of extra upgrades etc. My thought was that maybe doing Mordin's and Grunt's loyalty missions would work because they're both on Tuchanka. I'm not doing them because I'm worried about Grunt and Mordin not being loyal yet, but just because they're both in the same place and I'm hoping it's possible to do two in one visit. Or to put it yet another way, are you forced to return to the Normandy after doing either Grunt's or Mordin's (or both) loyalty missions? I didn't think to take notice on my first playthrough but if you have to go back to the Normandy then what I'm asking can't be done, but if not then you can stick around on Tuchanka for two missions and get all the pick ups from them plus discounted goodies from the two stores. That's the real aim at this point, not getting Mordin and Grunt loyal which is only incidental.

On Tuchanka ,after either mission you start back at the shuttle where you landed ( if I remember correctly), but not on the Normandy. Then you can start the next one.

Also on Illium, Miranda's LM won't port you to the Normandy as long as you haven't done Jack's yet.
I personally prefer the opposite, doing quick missions in that time so I can go to the collector ship ASAP and get a new weapon (unless NG+).
