The Truth is preferable b/c it at least dismisses all the non-sequitors, plotholes and logical fallacies in the current ending. The Rescue just throws more nonsense into the fray.

How would the rescue even work? Squaddies are stuck on a planet or moon god knows where. So how would they even factor in?

I haven't read what the Rescue is. But the Truth said we're going back to the Collector base which is impossible, do people not read anything.

Actually, according to Reaper Indoctrination Theory, the Truth and the Rescue would be the same thing as you've put them.
The Truth would have the choices appear as Reaper Indoctrination, however there's only one true ending where Shepard lives. The Rescue would involve people trying to rescue him from that moment, because if the Truth is a lie, then Shepard dies whatever choice he makes. There's nothing left to "Rescue".
